The thought crosses my mind but then reality kicks in. Why would I settle for conditional love? Which means you will do what I say and be perfect or I will leave you. Did she put restraints on Chad or the 50 guys before me? Nope. I refuse to deal with any bullshit. My life is simple but peaceful.

On romantic feelings, we projected a best part of ourselves (let’s say absolute love) on woman.

    This is a FUNDAMENTAL ERROR.

Once hit this, there is no chance of craving on it anymore.

Yes sometimes, but its passing. Most importantly, the logic says no. Its like anything else I crave or miss but know I shouldn't chase. I used to be a semi-pro athlete but I've got a congenital condition so now my body's a mess. Do I miss the things my body could do before this? Sure, but I know that chasing it now would only fu*k up my body even more whilst making a laughable attempt. So I put my energy into other things that can be productive.

Same with the romance stuff, I want it sometimes, but the cost-benefit analysis says no.

But I've got a lot of understanding now of what romance requires and depends on. That drains a lot of the magic out of it. It's hard to indulge the fantasy, when you've been red pilled.
No matter how I look at it I just can't see it being any other way than the man indulging the woman in her whims and feeding her ego in various ways. We have spoken about the Sugar Baby thing and as much as I wanted for MYSELF the idea of a silly type pseudo romance I kept wondering if I would just be building a monster that would go on to wreak havoc in some way later on.

It is hard to believe in romance again once the rose coloured glasses are off.

I used the word attractive. That doesn’t mean I don’t notice good looking women anymore. It means I don’t see anything more than that, their nature, behaviour, their vanity etc just wakes me up and I don’t bother pursuing them.

Short answer: no I don’t envy other guys who have a girlfriend or wife.
To be honest, sadly and profoundly, I pity them.

For me, I equate myself to a mouse that survived a few mousetraps. I know what a mousetrap is now, and I see "the bait" for what it really is.

MGTOW is pretty much a straight male lifestyle.

A far as the romantic stuff, no. Why? I don't get jealous of other men's women or cars or yachts or whatever. I don't feel something has been taken from me.

Also, not being an emotional cripple, I don't rely on others to make me "feel things".

That's a perfect description of contentment! Anything our lives are void of doesn't mean it's empty!

Life is a vessel, it's always full when you look at it's volume and not it's content.

Jealousy is one of the 7 deadly's! It's the core and foundation of feminism, has ben, always will be!

I date casually, so I do get some of that experience like holding hands and cuddling.

But I avoid getting into long term relationships, cohabitation and, of course, marriage.

I don't think I am missing out on anything. I get most of the benefits of a relationship without most of its risks.

Works for me, and for a lot of MGTOWs here.

Yes, of course, but then I remember that unicorns don't exist and then snap out of it.

We've gotten to a point in society where before only virgins were acceptable, to where now it's "as long as she only has a single digit body count".

She was fucking and sucking dudes before me, but now, NOW, we have true love? Give me a break.

    Re: Romantic feelings.

Maybe 10% of the couples I've known truly love each other. Trouble is, there's ten divorces behind those ten surviving marriages. 1 way to win and 19 ways to lose? No thanks.

I wish things were different, but they're not. At any rate I'm such a crusty old bachelor You'd probably see me on the five o'clock news if I did try my luck. I do not want to end up on the five o'clock news.

    Re: Romantic feelings.

I may well be the guy who is getting looked at holding hands in the store with a woman. I still enjoy romance and companionship with women. That does not mean I will marry a woman. Have kids with a woman. Or live with a woman. None of that will ever happen again.

Too many women have proven to me, that what I was told about them as I matured, was lies. I laugh at comments like oh he is bitter. Or who hurt you? or I'm an incel. Can't get laid and so forth.

You know what is also a possibility that never gets mentioned? The reason I've chosen an unchained MGTOW lifestyle. I just got smarter is all. It's really that simple. I learned from a series of horrible experiences with women. It's what intelligent people do. They do not repeat their mistakes. I am the product of my experiences.

Many MGTOW eliminate women completely from their lives. Some of us don't. In either case all of us are going our OWN way. That's the beauty of MGTOW. You decide your way to go. Only this time, as you decide how to live your life. You can do that based on the truth of what damage many women do to many men.

Sure. It's only human, after all. The heart wants what it wants, but the head knows that what the heart wants: comitted contentment, domestic felicity, just isn't available to be had anymore.

Personally, I think that hormonal contraception is at the root of many of the current ills.

    Re: Romantic feelings.

Speaking for myself, learning the hard way, romance is a prerequisite to heart breaking misery and wasted effort for something that's not real, fake as plastic.

I have no desire to return to such a dismal existence of chasing ghosts, so I did the next best thing, I became a ghost.

Whatever attracts a man to a woman was destroyed by my experiences with women.

It's like asking if I like cuddly soft furry grizzly bears, answer; yes when they're sleeping and no when they're awake, and there's no telling when they'll awaken!

Female empowerment, privilege, and entitlement are the legal parameters that give the grizzly teeth and claws to devour men when they awaken.
