Thread: Confused yet again!

I’m just after reading a very sad news story.

A young man (14) has gone missing in Belfast. I’m not going to post a link to the story because I don’t want any personal comments about the boy as apparently there have been more than enough rumours that are hurting his family and loved ones. (I will of course provide it via p.m. to any mod that asks for verification purposes.)

And yet there is no way I can mention this without starting another theory and this annoys me, that’s why I decided to post this in the Rant section.

They have found some of his personal belongings, but amongst those still missing is a copy of – wait for it – Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for Life.

Why is this even mentioned?

Is it meant to say something about his personality, that he is a good and moral young man? Is it a deliberate plug from the media in some way? Are we meant to infer that it has something to do with his disappearance?

This annoys me so much, but I’m unsure why.

Hm. He could be lost as Ive felt throughout much of my childhood. Alot of factors. Maybe his parents got a divorce? Breakups? Cast out of social circles? Teenage boys always get neglected & of course the girls get more attention for their petty struggles. Jordans book mightve overwhelmed him to shit. He could be in hiding somewhere very private to be alone because taking in the whole picture holds alot of ugliness from the world we live in. Unbearable state of confusion as Ive been there at times. But besides what might be going on upstairs we can only hope he returns. He couldve also got involved with the wrong crowd & decided to tag along in a dark adventure to serve evil. I grew up in a system of strategic crime involving kids at school working for their older siblings who worked for gangs that worked with inmates & it was like a cycle on repeat. It is sad & the you ger the more vulnerable. I used to think the worst of the worst only fermented around me but I try to see possibilities on a global level these days.

The "press" will stick together any convoluted ball of shit they can! It's nothing, it's a yellow kennel of corn in the brown shit that attracted your eye!

Well, it's looking like something nefarious has happened to him against his will and I'll leave that there.

But I do question the judgement of parents encouraging (if that indeed is the case) exposure of such a young mind to read such material. Whilst I agree with many of Peterson's observations, the conclusions he draws are quite a different matter.
