    Conspiracy Theory Time #2

Before you read this I offer my apologies if anything I say here offends you in any way, that is NOT my intent. I’m just confused by what must surely be coincidence, and yet I’m not convinced it is.

I may have lost the plot.

Sorry, make that I have definitely lost it – big time!

So here I am, sitting watching an old Star Trek Deep Space Nine episode when I catch something (maybe a fever).

The episode is called Homefront (season 4)

At approx. 3 minutes in one of the characters (Worf) asks the computer to replay some video footage.

The footage is of a bombing of a significant building.

    So what’s my problem?

Well, it’s in HOW he asks the footage to be replayed:

“Computer, begin replay at time index 5, 9/11” (punctuation mine)

    9/11.

We all know the significance of this date, but what of the “5”?

Well, it’s generally accepted that there were 5 hijackers aboard each of 4 planes. 19 hijackers aboard 4 planes = 5 per plane (minus 1, maybe he called in sick that day)

Bombing of a highly significant building.
    5
    9/11

It all adds up if this show was made after the atrocities that happened on that day, but it wasn’t.

It was first aired in 1996, five years before the actual attack.

Was bin-Laden a Star Trek – Deep Space 9 Fan? We know (assume) that this attack took many years of planning. Was this his inspiration?

I believe coincidences happen, but I don’t trust coincidences. Just WTF happened here?

Not to nitpick but it was 5 years from then. That out of the way I'd call it a bizarre coincidence. Why would the alleged people behind 9/11 inform the DS9 studio? That doesn't make any sense. Would you do that if you were "them?"

I reckon they did it on purpose, but don't think it's a conspiracy. It's just the sort of thing Trek scriptwriters would sneak in to be cool. Most of us wouldn't notice.

FWIW, I went to that episode on IMDB to see if anyone mentioned what you saw but all I found was this:

47 reference: in the episode, while watching the playback of the video, at 2:57, Worf says, "Computer begin replay at time index five nine one one. 5 x 9 = 45 + 1 + 1 = 47. This may be an unintentional 47 reference.
For background on the 47 reference, see:

“They” wouldn’t, simple as, but they might take their lead from western pop-culture.

“This is what they fear, so let’s hand it to them” kind of mentality.

Honestly, I’m just playing the silly bugger in an attempt to show how ridiculously easy it is to start a nonsensical conspiracy. Not all conversation has to be serious.

Sorry but this is incorrect. He actually says "Five Nine Eleven", later he asks the computer to resume replay at "Time index Five Nine One Six", a different use of terminology.

You can see the guy speaking and if it was overdubbed later this would be obvious.

I hadn't noticed the constant references to the number 47, but now that you mention it I can think of a few.

You had me going there, you SOB! Hahahahaha! Awesome! You're absolutely right. On the other hand I have learned to critically look at conspiracy theories but not dismiss them right away. When I first saw RP content about feminism, my initial (denial) reaction was: "oh, another CT. This can't be right, can it?" While the truth about feminism is screaming in my face very obviously. In the same way I have watched/ read content about 9/11. In which things were pointed out which doesn't make any sense toward the stories the MM has fed us. F.e. IIRC the twin towers were designed to withstand an airplane impact, the 3rd tower which collapsed which hadn't been hit in the first place, the way the twin towers collapsed doesn't add up towards a plane impact and the impact hole in the Pentagon (which from some biblical miracle reason didn't have camera feed.... LMAO) doesn't even closely resemble an airplane.

So thank you for kicking my own critical thinking in the butt, OP!

Yeah you’re right that things should be questioned, and I find it interesting to read conspiracy theories. The ingenuity that some can come up with is intriguing to say the least.

Is there any truth there is a different matter. Maybe sometimes there is. Maybe there is some big hidden secret that someone just happens to stumble upon.

But one should never lose focus on what’s truly important.

With regards 9/11 what is truly important is that there was an attack. How the buildings burned is almost irrelevant in this regard.

Maybe shoddy materials were used. Maybe building codes were flouted. Maybe / something / anything. Maybe there is something there that needs looking at, but as rational minded people we shouldn’t let these things detract from the main point – that there was an attack.

What I stated about the comments of a T.V. show was factual. The character did say “Five - Nine Eleven” and it was about an attack, in this case a bombing, of a strategic building.

If anyone checks this they can see for themselves that what I said is indeed true. Because I was truthful in this it may well suggest to some that anything else I say on the matter is also truthful even though I made it up.

Understanding how this progression works can be correlated to the misguided (intentional or otherwise) information we are fed about women.

There is often truth in what we are fed – but is it relevant? Learning to decipher what we are told into useful and bullshit is a life skill that should never be underestimated.

Look to the actions of women. Their claims as to their motivations are usually a smokescreen.
