I will have to check this out. I thought I was the only one who subjected myself to the B-rated genre.

Another B-rated movie I would say is definitely decent is "Cube". It's about people stuck in a cube but it has a "Lord of the Flies" vibe going for it. The movie is very interesting and has a bit of a cult following. I would only say it's B-rated because the acting is horrendous.

It has themes of not taking things for granted and being grateful for company, companionship, and having a meal.

If anyone likes Kevin Costner, this one may be worth a watch.
People always got bored as fuck if I optioned to watch that movie together, same goes for Heat (which I really like too). Usual complaint was that those movies are too long for them. Sigh.

Hah, I saw that one, and the follow-ups too! Truly B- or even C-material, but it was enjoyable because I went in with zero expectations (didn't buy, I downloaded them).

    Forget those people. LOL

"Heat" is another damn, good movie.

I know that people always seem to the "The Postman" is boring. I personally think that most everything in that movie is captivating. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Yeah "Cube" is verging into B-rated territory. "Cube 2: Hypercube" and "Cube Zero" are definitely into C-rated material. Ha ha. But I definitely love those type of camp movies. As you said, if you go into those movies with zero expectations, you can have a great time. Making a drinking game about how many times they throw their boots into the rooms to test for traps help further the enjoyment.

For those of you that like documentaries, here are two oldies but goodies from Michael Palin of Monty Python fame. His style takes a bit of getting used to but IMO it is worth the effort; some very informative insights are on offer.

Get rid of cable! Its not worth the $100 or more bucks a month. I purchase a bunch of VHS & DVD movies from the local thrift stores each week during their everything half off day. I recently picked up 10 movies for a $1. Yup you read that right.

You have to be selective and pick out what you like. I recently watched Die Hard with a vengeance & Dutch on VHS. What a great night!

Was watching one of those small claims court shows, and two teenage girls got busted for messing with each others pictures. One had put the face of her rival on a porno shot, and had done it so well lots a people thought it was real. Anyway the marks going on and on about how she's the laughing stock of the school, her boyfriend broke up with her cause he thought it was real, how she didn't get to make the prom and how awful life was. Then she hollers "AND THEN THEY PUT THE SCHOOLS BIGGEST NERDS HEAD ON THE GUY!

Yep, being portrayed as a sluts bad, but don't you show her screwing no nerd. A girls gotta have her pride I guess.

    "The Machinist" (2004)

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361862/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

I'm not a big Christian Bale fan but I really liked 'The Machinist'. It wouldn't appeal to a mainstream audience though. It's about a guy who never sleeps and the movie really messes with your mind...

The Great White Hype. I just found the movie at a thrift store for fifty cents. I love weird comedy movies.

Re: Any suggestions for something woth watching?

I recently discovered a site called TUBI. Iíd seen it advertised on U.S. telly and thought ďOh no, not another NetflixĒ and avoided it for a while. But you know how it is, you eventually get bored and I decided to give it a try.

For those of you that have given up on todayís movies, and I have to say for the most part I agree, this was a pleasant surprise.

Itís filled with old movies: westerns (John Wayne et al), sci-fi ďBĒ movies, old martial arts movies, documentaries (including some music ones I have yet to watch), stand-up comedy and more.

And whatís best is itís free, usually top notch quality, no ads, and no need to sign-up.

Most of the titles you wonít go near with a ten foot barge pole but I guarantee if you spend a little time youíll find something to interest you.

BTW, itís only available in the U.S. for the moment as far as I know. If youíre outside the U.S. and want to have a look feel free to P.M. me if you need help.

Hereís one I found interesting, itís called ďThe Man From EarthĒ and itís just a group of friends sitting around talking.

Itís listed as sci-fi / fantasy but donít let that influence you, they had to categorise it somehow and it doesnít really fit IMO, although it kinda does. Just donít go on IMDB or Rotten Tomatoes or some such and start reading reviews, they will only spoil it.

No special effects or C.G.I., no extreme violence, no sex scenes, no sordid love affairs, no crime, no modern day agendas, no red pill / blue pill, no cars or bikes. Nothing that makes up a modern movie.

    So whatís left?

Mystery and intrigue Ė and not of the ďWho done it?Ē variety. I donít want to say any more so as not to give away the story. All Iíll say is itís one to watch in the evening when you feel like a complete change of pace. Itís well acted and scripted and is just an entertaining little fictional story.

Running Time: 1 hour 27 minutes. Made in 2007.

Allzz I can say is Hollywood needs a sarcophagus like they did at Chernobyl. We're the Hollywood liquidators, we throw all the bad movie CDs' in a glowing pit, then cover it up with time! I often think what I'd be like if I still exposed myself to their high level toxic shit? The commercials are endless just like the bullshit, and they expect me to pay for that palate of shit? How about they pay me and I fuck them by not watching it? When will I see that offer?

Fair 'nuff. But it is free and not a single on-page ad and not a single commercial. Some like the old movies, so I posted this for them.

Please don't mistake my grumpy pissed-off attitude with knocking your threads or posts, it's just that I like to punch Hollywood in the eye, and kick it in the ass, every opportunity I get! Nothing personal, it was a reach around punch at Hollywood! Knock that motherfucker out!

No worries Tower, I already knew this. And even if the odd time we may disagree, my skin is more than thick enough to take a bit of criticism.

Nature is undeniable, men have rough thick skin covering our bodies and hearts.

Women, true to nature, have party balloon thin skin covering their bodies and hearts!

And me? I'm just a rolling pin cushion with every needle facing outward!

If anyone is a fan of early 70's martial arts movies, check out this 80's take paying tribute to them called "The Last Dragon". This movie could never be made today because it unapolgetically makes fun of all races and stereotypes. It is also one of my favorite movies ever and is so worth a watch. I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen it but it has one of the most entertaining villians to ever grace film.
