I just got an email saying signatures at 115,000 but also this message:

The Seattle City council is trying to float the idea of completely abolishing the Seattle Police Department in order to make the concept of defunding more reasonable. This is a classic deception tactic and is the reason they have postponed the vote to defund the SPD until 8/10/20.
They're just asking for Trump to send in federal law enforcement and, coincidentally, so am I.
I hear you. And I agree, they are begging for Trump to send in the forces. This is what they want so they can point the finger and cry oppression.

Trump may have to do this, but correct me if I'm wrong (not being an American and all) individual States have sovreignity for the most part. Most of the President's powers lie in dealing with international matters, if he envolves himself in domestic matters to that extent - even if necessary - he opens himself up to a mass of criticism, and that is just what the Dems want.

If he does "send in the troops" it will be because he has been manipulated into it.

Re: Defund the Police? How About We Defund the Universities (That Preach Feminism etc)

I recall reading an article a few years back about how police suicides were on the rise. Their main complaint was that no one cared. I feel like the good ones have already left the force, and the bad ones are the only ones left. I can still remember someone at King County lockup telling me I didn't know how far up the corruption went. The jail keepers were only the tip of the iceberg. A recent event in Colorado illustrates what law enforcement has degenerated into. With corrupt judges on the bench, corrupt politicians in the capital, and a corrupt "free press" reporting only what they want the public to see and hear about it's no wonder the narrative is now to defund the whole rotten mess.

And replace it with what? The National Guard? We are going to end up as a military dictatorship soon.

I know of a damn good replacement for the police, and it's found in the 2nd amendment.

Personally, I'm a fan of Samuel Colt, he can do all my policing for me! It's speedier than and Alabama lunch trial, and more effective than an Alabama backwoods lawyer. Judge, cop, lawyer, and executioner as simple as pulling a trigger, It's the one do-all that truly does it all!

Anyway, I live where it's illegal for the police to patrol, therefore I find them useless anyway, they're just another added cost to living for the exclusion of self and the benefit of others, just like Court (the other half of that equation).

Justice has become self serve, or none at all...

Tower, if vigilantes are going to take over police duties that can only mean one thing. And I don't want ANTIFA protecting me. They're thugs and robbers!

Vigilantism, even when carried out by those with good intentions is no answer to proper, structured law enforcement.

Our police, flawed as the system and some of them may be, are infinitely better.

Re: Defund the Police? How About We Defund the Universities (That Preach Feminism etc)

Im no fan of cops but defunding them is not the answer. Cops should be held to a higher standard than us since they took an oath to the US Constitution and the citizens. I find it funny. The protesters have no idea why they are rioting cause they can't even get their facts straight and they support Kamala Harris who has put away people & laughed for small non violent non viction crimes.

The mayors of the towns where the riots are happening are idiots. They support & march with the protesters but when things get out of hand then they cry. What did they expect? They sit back & do nothing about the riots but whine when Trump sends in the troops. Oh well. I support Trump in that matter cause he did the right thing. Remember the kid in the store that would throw themselves on the ground & scream when they didn't get the toy? They grew up & now are called protesters. Snowflakes need to learn that not everything will go their way & that includes cops. There is no reason why 4 cops have to kill an unarmed person.

When it all goes to hell, dig deep, you'll find your inner vigilantist, it's laying next to your primordial core, under everything else, I know where it is because I needed it from living in anarchy of a different feather, where the law has become toxic and somewhat lethal, a place where one must fend and defend for one's self under hostile conditions by extenuating circumstances.

There's no difference between a vigil anti and a man robed of his rights and taking measures necessary. No difference whatsoever, justice always finds a way like rainwater finding the ocean.

not when it's law enforcement attempting to structure broken law, it's still anarchy, no matter which side of the badge you stand on.
