Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

Much as it seems quite important to be open to criticism so one does not fall prey to hubris, yet I think its important consideration be given as to the kind of community this is. First of all, there really is no obligation moral or otherwise to participate here, there are plenty of alternative spaces which brings us to the question of, why someone would want to join any such community ? It seems to me that adhering to the requirements is the least a person can do to maintain the integrity of the space, which is usually the attracting factor. A good example to use to contrast is the reddit mgtow sub, at times the conversation degenerates into name calling, otherwise it goes off on a tangent quite different from the intent and of recent it has become an unofficial dating advice sub, which is quite hilarious to me.

Anyway aside from all those minor inconvenience, there is also the problem that having no vetting process allows anyone be it saboteur, misguided person with good intentions, women or whatsoever the case may be, to serve as the mouth piece of those who identify with that label. Usually, it is always the worst elements of any sect that is disapproved of, that is given the limelight. So I think there really is no basis for criticism bordering on shaming.

I would have respected this persons opinion more and I am sure a lot others would have as well, if there was some constructive criticism involved, instead it just seems at attempt to ridicule without addressing the concerns as to why things are the way they are.

The problem with most revolutionaries is they seek to break the walls to free the sheep, failing to understand that the wall was built to protect the sheep from the wolves who lurk in the nearby forest, most times they are completely oblivious to this reality.

Anyway I think the may be there could be more tolerance extended to newbies but in my opinion the story shows the others your journey; humanising you, for the experience of suffering is universal and we can all relate, thereby creating bonds. It helps to determine the person's state of mind and is useful for others to learn. But most important to me is the opportunity men have to share their burdens and not be shouted down for not being real men, its very cathartic, finally coming to a place where you can let your guard down and just be human.

Finally,of course a person could fabricate or even copy their "story" from else where, however such people are usually quickly filtered out, as its easy to talk the talk but walking it is an entirely different matter . So, even if the person gets by the initial filter their perspective is quite indicative of their mindset. And if perchance they are such a good chameleon that they can pass all these hurdles then I think they will still not be a disruptive influence...hard to stay quiet when your intention is to sow discord. They eventually always out themselves and really there is not much difference to those who just want to learn, as its only the capacity to contribute their perspective that is hindered.

Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

While there are people that try to sneak in places just to disrupt, I feel there are also those that come with a more pure motive.

I am sure there are men who may be purple with "red" leanings that come here to learn what MGTOW truly is about. With so much negative about it in the media and general public these days,..most guys that would come here do so without knowing the truth of MGTOW. What better source to learn , understand and maybe accept the life choice than straight from the horses mouth so to say.

Would it be possible to set up a "quarantine zone" with limited site access as a way to "educate" newbies on the finer points of MGTOW? A place here set up for just those willing to learn newbies to see if this is their way of life.
It could be set up on a times base thing...hmm say 30 days or so to allow that person to learn the TRUTH instead of the lies and bullshit spoken about us.
By doing something along that line, they could ask questions, we could answer and give advice...teach and promote MGTOW without looking all Herman Goering Nazi on their ass.
If they fit in after the introductory period then great!!! Welcome!....if not then hey down the road they go.

I realize that is not a perfect solution, and I realize that WE ALL ARE GOING OUR OWN WAY or should be. And since "one size does not fit all" , maybe that newbie will find a spot in one of our categories. After seeing much harsh treatment of men who just question the status quo of society....having a safe place to go ask questions and learn without instant condemnation seems like a big PLUS for MGTOW

Not even sure if this can be done but it might be worth a thought..hey.

Anyway ...this is just a .002 cent Tongue and cheek before morning coffee opinion.. Carry on!!

I think that sounds like a great idea.

Just so folks here know, Post #23 from African-Daoist appeared visible on the site before unregistered Post #22 appeared, as #22 was sitting in a moderation bucket, invisible, until moments ago even though it now appears ahead of him in line. I don't want you to think AD was able to see Post #22 then copy it, in service of the comment I quoted above. Follow that?

My forensic guess is that AD posted #22 without registering, then saw it not appear, then registered to post it again?

How about a Commons area for visitors and reserve the Intro test for those entering the fraternity? I did the intro a while back but left voluntarily. For two reasons: 1) This place could get hit by a Gynocratic missile, 2) The feeling of peer pressure to "measure up" to a daily prayer of womanhate. As you mention, there are men who aren't bad actors but have their reasons for wanting to stay on the outside.

An area for visitors?!! You're posting in it!

Everyone else who registers to join the fraternity has the Intro test reserved for them. It's been that way.

    Sir, are you high?

Do you mean something like a 'new members' forum something like the non-member forum?

I do have a few concerns.

    1. Simply because someone is new to the site does not mean he is new to MGTOW. Many of us have lived the MGTOW lifestyle for years without even having heard the term.

    2. It could result in multiple instances of a single active thread. If a newbie cannot comment on a particular thread of interest, he may reference and thereby replicate it in a new thread in the new members forum.

    3. New members, I assume, want to feel included. Would this not have the opposite effect?

    4. For those that haven't yet made the decision and are hesitant, is that not what this forum is for?

Interesting idea though and something worth exploring.

Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

Well all those concerns are with merit for sure..
Yes it is true many are MGTOW but do not even know it yet...'least not by a name.

Wile I wouldn't want to be exclusive to new members... what I had thought was maybe a Temporary holding type of open forum for them , and in that would be a chance to see what they have to say ,..what they feel and what they understand about the current tone of Men/Women relationships.

On point number 4.....well the way I see it,..and I may be wrong on this so do not hold me to it, those that haven't yet made the stand to be MGTOW are quickly shown the door anyway. This may give them opportunity to state the claim as to how the truly feel about things......sometimes all a person needs is a gentile nudge for them to see the light.

I'm not going to claim I have an answer to the dilemma here.. all I was suggesting was a way to "teach" and or "enlighten" our stance and philosophy on what MGTOW means.
And Like I sated above,...I am not even sure any of it would work....even if the site could accommodate such.

My apologies Jackoff for not having a better answer my friend. :/

Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

    No need for apologies.

Any suggestions for improvement should be treated with respect and this idea is far from being without merit. A learn about MGTOW forum is IMO an interesting idea.

The way mind works is I often look to the pitfalls when I hear a new idea in the hope that they can be addressed, not as a way to sweep aside the idea. I hope I didn't come across as dismissive.

Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

A questionnaire would work to filter out the lukewarm or purple and cold blue. The only thing is, if we asked the core questions that truly make up our modified nature, to the untrained eye it would appear as a cult. It would not address the core reasons as to why we exist. We're of the same cloth that came together forming a quilt that keeps the fuel of truth warm and comfortable so the flame can burn brighter casting it's light far, attracting the homeless, abused, and disabled to much needed psychological well being and comfort. We broke through the glass ceiling society and equality propaganda took a century and a half to construct.

We are the unanticipated and unsuspected ramifications and accountability for these actions, we are the grim reapers they fear more than anything else, we're the truth coming back to haunt them in their later years of loneliness and isolation (the one thing above all others that only men are equipped to do) they tested our equipment and found out it works flawlessly!

In that light, I think a pool of men randomly asking their questions and their own angles of interrogation is much more befitting than standard one size fits all check-the-box and get dishonest answers from troublemakers that easily sift through any filter.

We know who we are, each of us unto ourselves as individuals that gathered together, we're not a core cluster of evil as the real cluster of evil have us believe, the witch hunts are now being conducted by the witches, it was only a matter of time before they burned themselves.

Re: Long-winded life story required for membership

Years ago we had what was probably a small group of trolls studying our intro's for clues on how to better fool us. It didn't quite work out, though they came close. At the time I thought making it so rookies could only see their own intros would of been a good idea. Jag thought otherwise, and it remained everybody sees everything.

Looking back, I think Jag was right. We still chased the trolls off, and good sport it was. The mods had lives, and often weren't around. Sometimes it was just us and the trolls for weeks. Though not supposed to, several of us abused the shit out of them. The best stories came when they fooled us for awhile but couldn't keep it up.

The thing is though, this site is not really about us. It's unlikely that Jag or anyone else anyone would bother just so a half a dozen of us at a time can yuk it up. There's always way more lurkers logged on, and though Jag don't say much, I think their the real reason the lights stay on. So for that reason I think we should stay everybody see's everything.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.
