    How to Intro

Membership on this site is for men who have swallowed the red pill and do not keep hopes for a girlfriend or wife! If you do have those hopes (if you are blue pill or purple pill) and registered because you want to talk with us, you've made a mistake, so instead of wasting time doing an Intro please PM a moderator to close your account, no harm, no foul. You should instead chat with us using the Nonmember Questions & Opposing Views sub-forum as an Unregistered Guest.

As of 08/05/21, Intros became voluntary from each new red pill member. New members who do one will be given a longer leash during our undefined probationary period. We have provided this Sticky to help you be successful in writing your Intro. Please read fully the information below before you begin.

How to Intro? When in doubt, be specific. We'd like to know about: your relationships, what happened, your experiences with women (good, bad, and ugly), how you came to swallow the red pill, and anything else about who you are & your life experiences. As you may well know, MGTOW gets its share of trolls. By understanding your history and what makes you tick, we can do a better job of ensuring the right people make it through. One more thing- do let us know how you heard of this site.

In order to discern genuine users from trolls, we will request the following information:

    1. Relationship history
(experience with women, red pills, what about it made you made you aware; note- you don't HAVE to have had relationships but you can speak of your interactions with women) -- it turns out trolls don't have good, realistic stories of this ilk.

    2. Awareness
: your previous blue pill perspectives, how you transitioned to red pill, with enough detail about what brought you to MGTOW.

    3. Who you are
: tell us a little bit of who you are. What you like, what you do, etc.

Important: Our mods currently active on this forum are frog, Mr Wombat, TigPlaze, and Unboxxed. They may come by to review your Intro and ask questions or will just Welcome you.

If you're new entirely or a lurker on the old forums, please intro yourself.

If you've read this far, please read our Principles by clicking on that word at the top of this page, in the black bar. All members, Intro or not, are expected to understand and follow them.

    Thanks!

    -Jagr

    Example of a good intro.

That was one hell of an intro (the one from Nacho's forum you linked to above)! Guaranteed to piss off any twat who reads it because there's so much truth in the observations the OP makes.

    Dear Administrator,

Is it possible to edit your intro after a while.
The thing is I reread it and I'd like to change some parts.

    Cheers,

    -V.

Absolutely. You can edit any post you make, there should be an "edit post" button just below your text. It appears next to the "reply" and "reply with quote" buttons.

Is it mandatory for every user to make an intro?

Yes, it is loganbiasomma. We give users a bit of a grace period - but prefer intros right away. In January 2015 we are actually planning on stricter enforcement of intro posts.

I'm having a hard time editing my profile and doing an intro. Maybe this is because I'm using my phone ... idk.

    Re: How to Intro

Okay, I'm noticing that people are making the same incorrect introduction over and over again.

    Here's what not to do:

    1. Relationship history I dated x number of women, and it sucked. Now I'm trying to stay away from them.

You laugh, but a large number of attempted introductions might as well say this. And no, the number of words used doesn't matter. Many thousand-word paragraphs can be boiled down those two sentences. This is completely inappropriate. Anyone who has had any relationship is going to have stories about it. We want to hear yours, and how those stories inform your path to MGTOW.

    2. Awareness
: I read x web site or watched y video, or both. And it really resonated with me.

Again, anyone could say this. We want to know why it resonates with you based on your own experiences.

    3. Who you are
: I'm just a guy on the internet.

We're not asking for your ID card here, but we do want to know a little bit about you. You should be telling us what you like, what you don't like, etc. You can tell us your job if you want. If you're concerned about security, you can talk about it in general terms. This is the internet. YOU are not the name on your ID card. We're looking for the essence of you. And you can do that and still remain quite safe.
