    More Workplace Madness

University ordered to pay €60,000 to employee with OCD who had fear of using toilet

    Synopsis:

A woman develops OCD. A very specific type of OCD that means she has to use her own toilet. Make of that what you will, however as she was hospitalised twice to due OCD I think it safe to say it is legit.

She asks for permission to work from home when possible and at other times leave her place of work to travel home when she needs a pee. Her employer rejects this on the grounds that her job is student-facing, meaning that she has to be there in person, and she could not work from home at other times due to data-protection issues.

The woman leaves her job citing mental health issues.

She then decides to sue on the grounds of discrimination and gets awarded €60,000. Yet again the adjudication officer is a woman.

Upshot: If you get ill through no fault of your employer and quit because you cannot perform your duties then your employer is liable to compensate you for your illness. This Workplace Relations Commission seems to be the place to go if you’re a woman looking for free money.

All that shit is coming to a screeching halt when the cost of doing business exceeds the effort.

I found that in order to avoid many of the added costs from the inefficiency and waste, a good shortcut is to do things yourself, it's one of the reasons I'm surviving the economic bubble explosions. I've trimmed my costs to a bare minimum and cut taxation's throat through self agriculture, free heating, and all spectrum of auto, home, and business maintenance and preservation. It's a way of getting on top of the wave, instead of sent under to grind and lacerate on over taxation's coral reef!

I'm jealous. No sarcasm I really am. I couldn't grow a weed in a rain forest. As for the rest it's impossible living in a rented apartment in the city.

Maybe you should board a potato steamer the way my ancestors did, there's still good soil here that hasn't come from someone's ass!
