Now, domestic violence is a bad thing. Some men here are victims: glassed, stabbed, run over by some psycho bitch. But WR was always 100% about "end men's violence against women". So fuck them. WR was also one of those "raising awareness" charities. They didn't run shelter or anything, they just raised awareness. Which is to say, their goals and methods were always entirely political. So, double fuck them.
Their focus was on what they called "primary prevention", which mainly involved scolding men in general and boys in schools. Needless to say, most men willing to sit still and be scolded, hanging their heads in shame and guilt for being a man in the first place aren't going to be wife-bashers.
Nevertheless, big corporate sponsorship and all the perks that come with being a charity.
So why are they going down? Well, seems they ran out of money. How TF does that happen? How does an organisation with no expenses but advertising and admin, with grunt work done by volunteers (technically, although a lot of them were dragooned into it), that gets tax-free money from the public trough run out of money? Nothing in particular - it mostly went on salaries, it seems. No big embezzlement, just nickel and dimed to death. But wait - you ask - who decides how much the employees get paid? The employees, obviously. I mean - who else is there? They answer to no-one.
WR is going under, then, because the people in the organisation have looted it. And I'll bet that quite a lot of those people looted it while off on sick, stress, and maternity leave. Doing nothing and collecting a salary for it. And feeling absolutely justified in so doing. Don't you know they are all single mothers with kids?
Leaving the world still run mostly by men with old-fashioned, outmoded ideas like "integrity", and "a fair day's work for a fair day's pay", and "if someone is paying you, you should actually turn up to work and do the job".
Ahhhhh! It's a good feeling, seeing your enemies fall.
