The Albuquerque Police Department is explaining what prompted them to shoot and kill a man last month. "When Mr. Lujan points and shoots at tactical officer...APD Officer Justin Jones and State Police Officer Michael Mariscal return fire each striking Mr. Lujan one time," Lt. Jason Sanchez said.
Arthur Lujan was shot and killed at a home near Atrisco and Milne on July 18.
Lujan was the suspect in the murder of his girlfriend's ex-husband, Anthony Sandoval, the day prior.
APD officers had spent most of the day, night and next morning negotiating with him.
After he barricaded himself inside, they used a number of devices including smoke to try to get him out. They say it didn't affect him because he was wearing a gas mask.
When Lujan finally came out armed with a .223 and opened fire, he was killed.
Officers say there was little doubt Lujan had killed the ex-husband Anthony Sandoval because Sandoval was on the phone with 911 when it happened.
Sandoval was found shot multiple times in the driver seat of his Jeep.
Police say Lujan had been harassing him for months.
-----------We all know how this goes down. Woman finds willing white knight to kill ex, in the process taking out two men and twat walks away with the money.
Avoid women, if not all women then ones that try to use you for police target practice.
