Bond was never a perv or creep or anything. His character was just smooth and charming and women wanted him.

James Bond is fatally outdated. Intelligence services just don't operate that way anymore, because internet. No agent can be 'secret', no cover can be maintained. These days, secrent agents sit at a desk and pay the locals to do the actual work.

The other problem is that the people whom Bond would actually be fighting are groups that you are not allowed to criticise, these days.

The only way to make James Bond work is to abandon the principle that Bond movies are always set in the present. A new movie set in 1958 could potentially work.

The anti-men folks do not seek equality so much as they seek replacement. I see this a lot. Two different things that are definitely not equivalent.

And when they want changes like this, they are driving men elsewhere, but they think not about that because, well, women suck at engineering. Always have. Their ideas always go sideways. Barbara Broccoli is notoriously protective of the JB franchise, from what I've read. Any article that mentions a major change like this yet does not mention her by name seems a bit farcical or perhaps wants to play its audience.

A lot of people think James Bond is an intelligence officer. So when MI5 put recruitment ads up, all of those people with James Bond fantasies start applying. Obviously, they get shot down.

Why would you send a white man in a suit to gather intelligence on a terrorist isis sect? More than likely he'd be killed anyways. The updated version of James Bond is probably a 5 foot 6 muslim guy who people hardly notice. Who remains undetected in a local mosque. When you apply the feminist bond, you are left with the nice guy white knight. A female always assumes attraction when listing the qualities of her chosen man. This is where the confusion takes place. She is listing the man shes had sex with multiple times and is now showing his more sensitive side. I think the fantasy of a James Bond character is more about him doing what he wants for himself and in service of his country. Throw in some well timed jokes, crazy adventures and of course his charm and it is easy to see the appeal of the character.

If they deviate from that formula for this fantasy character the entire magic of it is gone. Simply put, no one wants to watch a clone of Jason Bourne which is what a lot of people complained about with Daniel Craig's Bond.
