I agree with your analysis with only one exception: pumpkin did not work outside
the house at all during the marriage, only afterwards for minimum wage.
The part about working for 15 years without a raise was aimed at raising the monsters...er...youngsters, housekeeping, cooking, etc.
("She makes his coffee, she makes his bed..." Gee Mary, excuse me...Mary Chapin, I thought it took 2 to tango).
To elaborate: Years ago, the femi-nazi crowd would harp on how much it would cost
to hire someone to do everything a (quality) housewife does...
...cuntveniently leaving out that most chores don't need to be done daily,
not to mention that most chores aren't difficult (other than changing loaded diapers...no thanks),
and being able to go back to bed after the monsters/youngsters are taken care of and sent off to school,
but most importantly: Not having to go to a job, and being able to live on simp's er hubbies' income.
