    So I lost my glasses...

So I lost my glasses, because I was rather drunk. Maybe I will find them, before I have to go to work tomorrow. Maybe not. But, in recent days, I have made that Fool-Proof. And this is an Apology. I gave up the corporate life, and the downtown job, as an act of defiance... Made it 5 years, living in a camper, and eating Cowboy Food... But I wimped out, in the End. Found a good deal, on a house, In-Town. Sold out. Bought in. Now me and my lovely cat occupy a space 5 times bigger than our camper.

My parents expected me to sell that camper.... But I will not. It is mobile shelter, a prize beyond reckoning. No... I will restock, and clean, and make that goddamn camper an Ultimate Emergency Vehicle. But for now... Me and The Feebie have a house. In a way, it is like Getting Paroled. No more, the cramped home... No more, the microwave food... I have an oven now. No more, the sink-bath.. A Full Shower.

I'm not sure if I can accurately explain what it is like to live In Camp for 5 years... But it's very different from anything you have likely experienced.

So I have a house now, after 5 years. More importantly, my cat has a house now, after 5 years.

In the last two weeks, I went to a Feminist subreddit, just to see the other side. It is amusing to me, how similar they are to Us. All the same accusations... All the same missives. And let me tell you true... The level of delusion is Extreme. They are utterly convinced of their Victim-hood. They cannot be reached. The only answer is to Walk-Away, and Go On with your life, qnd perhaps in 20 years, you might find a good woman.

    For the time being? Run...

Except feminism has billions in funding and MGTOW has tiny forums and some cameras for YT videos.

Feminism also dominated education and media. Mgtow? Nothing.

    So not quite the same.

As far as living in a camper, yes, there are shitty day to day issues like showering, etc. I do a blend. Have places I can stay and van living.

I flogged my bus long ago. It had become more of a junk catcher than anything else, so I sold it to some tree planters. Kind of a shame, but it was too small for a house and too big for a camper.

There're so many things you take for granted in a house. Like a washer and dryer. Remember Joe Walsh's old song; I got the all-night laundromat blues; I'm washing everything I own except my shoes. I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore. There's TV shows about those tiny homes, but all you see is the honeymoon phase where they move in and are so happy. You don't see it when the place is stuffed, yet still not big enough.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.

    Thanks ScrewJita for this post.

So many times I read on this site about the virtues of living the camper life. Canít say it really appealed to me, but not having tried the life I had nothing to compare.

You actually did it and you sound happy to leave it behind. More power to you for standing up and saying this.

This isnít wimping out or selling out, this is bettering yourself. Godspeed.

I compare the tiny homes to living on a boat in a marina. You really have to go without and learn how to conserve space. And then, you either confine yourself to that tiny space or you always make sure you leave it each day. I couldn't do it. When I rented, I got sick of going to the laundromat. When I bought a house, having my own washer and dryer was great! My house is big enough I never feel cooped up and can go hang out in different areas of it for variety. I also could not do the condo thing because you are either in that box or you leave it and are always on someone else's property. I like my yard, a nice buffer between being in the house and being on someone else's property.

I can't imagine a house boat during a storm, I like looking out my window at trees swaying instead of the house! If it isn't a floating skyscraper laying on its side (cruise ship) then I sure as shit don't want to live in it! I like midship, center of pitch and roll. Steerage sucks, it sways, vibrates, goes up, down, left, and right like the Wankavator in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I hung out there one night and we polished off a 5th of tequila private stock I picked up in Mexico.

Rather than a house boat, I'd like to build a trash island out of plastic bottles and containers tied together.

In the beginning, it only ate men, now it's coming for the women and children, and nothing can stop it.

One of the best things about being MGTOW is the freedom to perpetually be in a honeymoon phase.

We all need (to varying degrees) a balance between adventure and comfort. Particularly as MGTOW, we can be as feral or as domesticated as we want.

Once the honeymoon phase of whatever ends, we can get into some other situation to begin another honeymoon phase.

Right now, for example, I'm pretty feral, and it's awesome. I'm filled with wonder when I arrive at a new place. But I know the sexiness will wear off, and I'll start to long for a sense of home. When that happens, I'll find a home. Maybe the allocation given to each - adventure and comfort - will shift as I get older and I'll be cool with a camping trip once a year. Don't care. I'll do whatever calls to me - without having to run it by the wife.

This isn’t wimping out or selling out, this is bettering yourself. Godspeed.
Agree. I think you, ScrewJita, surpassed most people in terms if how long you did it. Although I don't think it is a positive thing to hold yourself accountable to living in one particularly extreme way, you probably really appreciate the things that Unboxxed brought up as a result.

I have a 3/2 1,200 sq/ft mobile home on an acre of rural land. When my daughters are here, we use half of the house. I use one of the small rooms (approx. 90 sq/ft) for me, the second largest room for the girls (approx. 200 sq/ft) and of course we spend a lot of time in the living room. The master bedroom and bath is used for my tshirt biz equip and I shower in that bathroom, otherwise it's not used at all. When the kids aren't here I only air condition the room I'm in with the window unit and my electric bill is about $2-3 a day, even as we've have a heat wave hitting us for weeks now. I'm a huge fan of only having the space you need - some people amaze me. 2 old boomers and a mini schnauzer in a 3,500 square foot palace with 10 foot ceilings? Why? It costs a fortune to heat/cool it, property taxes, maintenence, etc.
