I have been having conversations with my daughters lately about racism, as one day I said to one of them something about how the guy driving by our house is the black guy that lives down the road. My daughter said, "That's racist". I was dumbfounded, "How is that racist" I asked. The two of them explained how it is in school (a rural Oklahoma town that is about 75% white, 7% black, and 15% American Indian. Apparently it's racist to use color in any description of someone. I bring this up because I know there are men of all colors on here and would like to know, do you feel saying something like "That black dude over there" or "That white guy in the corner" is racist. No matter how I tried to explain to them the difference between racist and descriptive vernacular, it didn't seem to sink in. Am I wrong here?
