We're going to be told that we can't talk about things negatively and that whatever she does is right for her and that any opinion we have better be a good one because 'thought police'.

Of course, male shaming will continue unabated regarding marriage, commitment, being a husband/father (provider), chivalry, gaming, other hobbies, etc., (the list goes on). BUT don't anyone dare think or say anything negative about a woman. (yawn)

Actually, that's sort of already happening:

Zack Braff was (perhaps unintentionally) hilarious when he posted a picture of Donald Faison and said it didn't look at all like Ms. Zellweger. Hilarious because, honestly, she might as well look like Donald Faison. She looks that different.

And all these people saying "it's her body/her choice and we need to accept it" and similar stuff need to grow up.

Yes, it IS her body. And she is, or should be, well aware that her particular look play a HUGE part in why people like to see her in movies. She can choose to do whatever she likes, but I do not have to like it, or even accept it.

If I were her, I'd be looking into a lawsuit against her plastic surgeon if she was unaware of how radically her appearance would be altered.

    This will affect her livelihood.

I wonder if that was the point? Her last movie was 10 years ago, perhaps her unique facial structure did NOT age gracefully at all? At 45 what parts are left for women to play? Very few are at all appealing compared to younger actresses and outside of Lifetime Channel movies how often do they play mayor roles?

Good question, but I'll bet most of the good ones are taken by Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.

Looks like a victim of plastic surgery, so add Victim Blaming to the list!

As an aside, I'd just like to say that those two ladies at least give off the perception that they are good at being old women (meaning they seem fully comfortable with themselves and their age), and I respect that quality. It's rare.

Image and perception. Powerful marketing tools. Never judge a book by the cover or accept a woman at face value.

Jennifer Lawrence loved projecting an image of how innocent and sweet she is, always turning interviews into gush sessions about her down-to-earth personality and ties to her roots, and how her values wouldn't allow her to do nude scenes in movies.

Then The Fappening happened. Everyone saw the literally hundreds of narcissistic nude selfies she took over and over and over again.

Lies. The primary weapon in a twat's arsenal. Anyone that trusts perceptions conveyed from a woman is a fool.

Notice I said perception. However, the fact remains, I enjoy interacting with people who seem to be comfortable with who they are. It's even a rarer quality than I'd like among men.

Renee Zellweger's face: Why so much criticism? - CNN.com

Zellweger has said that she looks different because she is "living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows."
"Are we a society of people that are so jealous or maybe even fearful that others are living a fulfilled life ... that we have to spill out cruel words?" said parenting advocate Sue Scheff.

There is a larger concern here, many women said, and that is that we live in a culture that continues to correlate youth with beauty, said Michelle Noehren, founder and manager of Connecticut Working Moms.

"It's easy to judge others for actions we don't fully understand but we do a detriment to all women when we criticize each other, especially when the criticism is related to our bodies and appearance," said Noehren, a mom of a 3-year-old in Glastonbury, Connecticut. "We'd be much better off criticizing a culture that makes women feel badly about themselves if they don't fall into our media's unrealistic and unattainable beauty ideals."

Diane Smith, an Emmy-award winning television journalist, brought up a book she just finished reading, "The Confidence Code," about why women might suffer from a lack of confidence as compared to men.

"It is pretty clear that when women are subjected to this kind of unsolicited commentary, it does nothing to increase confidence or help women understand that their value goes way beyond their looks," said Smith, co-author of the recent New York Times bestseller "Obsessed: America's Food Addiction and My Own."

I've written story after story about how we want to do everything we can to build up confidence in our girls and remove any notion that their worth is connected to their appearance. So, what kind of message does all this talk about Zellweger's face and whether she did or did not use plastic surgery send to our daughters and our sons?

"Our kids need to understand that people, whether they are celebrities or not, have feelings that we need to respect," said Scheff, author of "Wit's End: Advice and Resources for Saving Your Out-of-Control Teen."

But first, their parents need to absorb the lesson.

Correlate youth and beauty? Biological fact.

Criticize the culture? You mean the same culture that villifies men for everything?

Unsolicited commentary? The same unsolicited commentary that calls men losers, creeps, weirdos, immature, or selfish?

Notion that worth is connected to appearance? The same image conveyed to men that they need to have a seven figure bank account and look like George Clooney for a woman to even bother with them?

People have feelings that need to be respected? No mention of respecting the men who are insulted and abused every day?

Fuck your hypocrisy and double-standards cunt.
