Thread: I Love T.V.

I know many here have rejected almost everything today’s television has to offer, and I’m going to come in for a lot of criticism here, but please hear me out.

I agree that many if not all current T.V. shows, in the west at least, promote agendas that are detrimental to the male of the species. Men are assholes, women know what’s what; men should do whatever it takes to improve their attractiveness to women (SMV) like pandering to them (a fallacy) and using cosmetics (another fallacy); women are more capable than men (and women) believe etc. etc. etc. I’m sure you can add a lot more, but wait, there’s more going on here than meets the eye.

These patterns have become so extreme that there is a shock value in play. Whilst on the surface they seem to be advocating such behaviours, to me as someone who rejects such concepts and has done for many years they also serve as a warning of things to come. Think in terms of 1984 or Fahrenheit 451, shows that predict a dire future for mankind.

Consider the typical blue-pill couple. Evening time comes around and they settle down to watch telly and no matter what they switch on they are bombarded with this shit. The woman is saying ‘you go girl’; ‘you see, women really are better than men’.

But what of the guy?

Unless he’s a total mangina, he’s sitting there enduring this nonsense thinking, and maybe saying, ‘this is total bullshit’ or ‘yeah right, like that would really happen’.

Now, if this was only happening in the odd show he could pass it off as a comical farce, but it’s not, it’s pervasive, it’s everywhere, he cannot ignore it.

The media, for all its faults, not only influences society but also reflects it and prophesises where we are going, and many men are beginning to realise this.

Maybe I’m wrong, and I’m open to criticism for this view, but I think the media has a lot do with men waking up to what’s going on around them and not just thinking their circumstances are unique to them, hence the ever increasing numbers in red-pill communities.

My life is better without TV. I don't miss it at all for being honest. TV is a big waste of time IMHO.

I like the old cathode ray tube CRT TV, the real big ones especially! I love the way they implode! Flat screens can't do that no matter how many times I smash them! Throwing a TV out your window is almost as much fun as a feminist!

No TV for me.

I will YouTube 10-min snippets of The Office or Madmen when taking a break or eating, but nothing religiously.
True Detective Season 1 was the only relatively recent show I watched online.

As a character in a novel I am reading said, "Movies do not have enough imagery when compared to the mind".

Ironically, the media is so relentlessly and reliably full of shit that anybody can see it. Anybody, that is, who still has some critical thinking skills not schooled out of them. (It might require more chutzpah than thinking skills, actually.)

In the Eastern bloc, anybody with at least half a brain assumed that everything you were told was propaganda. If you were interested in the truth, you had to read between the lines.

And that brings us to another point: This thing is larger than the media. It is about culture. If you unthinkingly swallow everything your culture teaches you—well, that is good for running a society. Until it isn’t, and everybody walks off a cliff following others. (By culture, I mean what Daniel Quinn meant in Ishmael: “a culture is a people enacting a story”.)

Indeed. When watched through a basic red-pill lens all this programming is seen as a serious assault on everything men are and can be, as it is trying to be.

However, when watched through the deeper MGTOW lens, every show becomes a comedy where people do one insanely stupid thing after another. It's like Mr. Bean on acid.

The really dumb ass shows don't affect me, cause there's no woman around to make me watch them. There's all kinds a shows available.

Everybody's different. I once had friends who watched sports. Only sports, third rate reruns rated higher with them than any other programing. Whatever.

I see no harm in TV as long as you don't buy into or believe their shit.
