Want to be listed as a Parent? Nevada wants to have unlimited number of parents on birth certificates

Offer the real parents $50 apiece and you could be listed the daddy for an unlimited number of Nevada babies? What could possibly go wrong???
Or the real dad could pay you a quick $5000 to take his place for child support . . . you could make some quick cash as the child support substitute! Plus get a free room with 3 meals a day at the local graybar hotel when you don't make those child support payments! LOL

"A bill in the Nevada state legislature would strike the term mother and father on birth certificates and authorize an unlimited number of adults to be listed.
The bill was heard this week in the Senate Judiciary Committee. It already passed in the Assembly, where it was sponsored by Assemblywoman Cecelia González (see image), a Democrat . . . "

Man, it just keeps getting worse.

    Obfuscation and confusion!

Why can’t they make a distinction between biological and practical?

I have a friend that knows his eldest child isn’t his, biologically speaking. They have separated. He paid for DNA testing. The child is prepubescent.

Recently we were chatting about his (son’s?) future.

He didn’t want to be the one to break it to him – doesn’t want to look like the bad guy. I get it – Hey kid, your mum’s a fucking slag! How would that make him look?

But when I said to him:

He’s getting to that age, maybe not quite there yet but soon, where he’s going to get interested in the girlies. What if he ends up shagging his own half-sister?

Shit! I never thought of that! Oh fuck!

    Why stop at Nevada?

Put everyone's name on the birth certificate!

Sorry to chop up your post, but this means something.

The law is meant to protect, at least that's how it's portrayed.

"Thou shalt not violate the law or else punishment shall be visited upon you!"

But when the laws turn sour, punishment is still meted out!

Re: Want to be listed as a Parent? Nevada wants to have unlimited number of parents on birth certificates

    From the article:

A bill in the Nevada state legislature would strike the term mother and father on birth certificates and authorize an unlimited number of adults to be listed.
To be listed on the birth certificate itself? This, I had to read for myself.

So I read through the two referenced documents as best I could before my eyes glazed over:

    https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELI...Bill/7435/Text

    https://files.constantcontact.com/ef...b01de69501.pdf

and I could find nothing that talked about birth certificates.

It does talk about allowing the court to decide if an adopted child has more than two parents. When an adopted child has a parent-child relationship with more than two adults. I think I've seen this play out over the years as an adoptive couple and the biological mother, making three.

It does propose to replace the words "father" and "mother" with the word "parent" in the text of the law itself. Whatever might be printed on birth certificates seems to not be included in this proposed law. And I see nothing stating the listing of numbers of people on birth certificates.

I'm not saying that there is not a concern here in codifying into law whatever they are shooting for. Probably to reestablish for the biological mother to legally assert control, years after she gave up her parental rights. Sounds about right, huh? That they want to let these women have a do-over? Isn't this all about women, as always?

I'm just saying that the original link stated something that I cannot read for myself.

Re: Want to be listed as a Parent? Nevada wants to have unlimited number of parents on birth certificates

    Birth certificates?

    What do they mean now?

They used to state time and place of birth, the name of the child, the names (and often the occupations) of the parents of said child (where available), and the child’s gender.

Here in Ireland, and I assume in most of the U.S. and U.K., these details can now be changed in retrospect.

And I’m not talking about prolonged court cases trying to get to the facts – it’s literally as easy as filling out a form and getting it notarised, often by someone who knows nothing about you.

And as an aside on birth certs.:

These are legal documents often used as proof of identity. Many years ago I needed an official copy of a birth cert. I had my original, but that wasn’t good enough (really).

I had moved from the North of Ireland to the South of Ireland and travelling back to the North would be costly both in terms of money and time.

    I phoned a friend.

She (a female obviously) was able to go to the local city council office, obtain an official (long) copy of a birth cert. for me (a male) and post it to me. It took her all of half an hour.

I actually understand your position to be frank.More and more of recent, I begin to understand why women have usually been barred from holding political power; shocker !! It wasn't due to misogyny.

The tendency of unqualified people being propped up to occupy positions of authority is usually a disaster waiting to happen because inevitably, personal bias filters in to their decisions. I know most people would claim that men are liable to make the same errors but I'd counter by saying, men are forced by necessity to dwell in reality due to not having the leverage of appealing to sympathy when their poor decisions head south. So while a man can be petty too, afterall human nature exists in both genders, it remains uncurtailed by any checks and balances in females.

What fails to be mentioned in the history of many societies who attained the peak of achievement and met their rapid demise, was that, most often part of the reason was that, women started to be placed in positions where their decisions had greater impact on the ship of state.
A good example is the spartans who being dedicated to war, eventually gave over ownership of land and other necessities to the women folk, so the men could concentrate on warfare, their doom followed not too long after. I think it's in the account of Plutarch a well noted historian. A lot more other examples can be easily pointed to as regards these same decisions producing similar outcomes in countries from ancient egypt to modern day Afghanistan, which was a secular society in the 50's I think. Even socrates complained that women being called upon to pull their own weight refused to cooperate and eventually they were allowed to have their way.

It's funny that by lettjng them have a say, they prove why they shouldn't be allowed to have one. I know if no man arrogant enough to assume that his position on issues is the only way, except he is insane but I repeat myself needlessly. Isn't it odd that a man can be turned to basically a drone to all intent and purpose, on the pain of imprisonment, and yet the U.S constitution expressly states the whole purpose of the establishment of the union is to facilitate liberty and pursuit of happiness. How can a man be happy when he is turned to a slave for his ex "wife" , if it was only the children, I'd understand but under what natural laws does a woman's happiness gain superiority over a man's ? Forgoing that how is a man at liberty where he is turned into a slave to cater to the whims of someone who he has broken off with ? Even slave holders of the past were more compassionate as they cared enough not to work a productive slave to death, does Robin Williams ring a bell ?

To be honest the whole thing has become a farce, it's merely extortion with the machinery of state.
And worst your house of law has become a saloon, where women have catty fights over trivial inconsequentialities .
The link below is an instance of the total disconnect.

Sorry, wrong reference. Aristotle not Plutarch was the one who analysed the situation in the manner I alluded to though both wrote about them.
