I'm proud of my fellow men

I'm proud of my fellow men for saying no to saving this place.

    Thank you for not serving.

The opposite holds true but I would rather be surprised by the truth than a lie.

Re: I'm proud of my fellow men

I was obsessed with the military and war as a kid. Fortunately I was also a fat kid who wasn't great at a lot of physical things and by the time I was old enough to join and also having lost weight and went to a couple of recruitment type interviews I had lost interest in joining the military altogether.

Actually the second one I went to was for the air force and was told I still had to lose more weight I was practically (for my height and a build) a stick figure at that point!

My experience with ex military guys is they are messed up physically and emotionally especially if they have seen combat. And yes the military now is another Leftist propaganda machine. I also don't feel any desire to put myself on the line to defend people who call me Toxic, Racist and other slurs.

So all good here with my failure to meet the weight requirements.

Edit: It reminds me a bit of Mohammad Ali's speech when he refused to be drafted. Why would I go to war against people in another country to defend people who attack me at home? No Taliban has ever called me toxic or sexist etc!

My dad as well as a couple of uncles were drafted during and after Korea. There was never any pressure applied by any of them for me to volunteer and I never had the interest. I had a couple of cousins go into the services back in the '80s, the eldest son of each uncle but none others. I certainly don't begrudge those who served (just don't rub my face in it, okay?) but I would not recommend anyone join up if I were asked.

There's lots of corrupted cancerous blighted areas in America just not worth fighting for. Let Richie Rich that has something to loose do battle, let the politicians, judges, and lawyers pick up arms and defend their loot.

As for me, I stopped giving a fuck.

My late father was drafted and sent to fight in Korea. He was madder than hell at me when I joined back in the late 80's. It was a different world back then. I put in one tour, realized that the life wasn't for me and got out; no hard feelings type of thing. It was far from perfect back then, but there were standards to meet. Sure, if you were a woman or minority (racial, ethnic or religious) the Army would try to keep you to make itself look better, but there was at least a demand to meet realistic physical standards. From what I've read, that's been thrown away. I also have to wonder why anyone would sign up to defend the social mess that my country has become.

Just saw a new "Be All You Can Be" ad on TV. I chuckled and clicked on this tab to reload it and reply.

None of the actors looked like the pillow boys in that video.

In terms of military recruitment, maybe the armed forces would be better off in the long run with a "serve your country" pitch, rather than a "be all you can be, get free shit" pitch. Fewer recruits, but better ones.

Perhaps part of the problem is that the armed forces of the west have been an unstoppable juggernaut for so long that they are driven by internal goals. Specifically, an line officer's status comes down to how many men he commands. Just the number.

Similar thing in the navy. The US keeps building aircraft carriers even though they are obsolete mostly because navy personnel like the idea of swaggering big ships. Sheer dick-swinging. You spend your 10bn on an aircraft carrier, I'll spend mine of a fleet of missile frigates, and we'll see who wins the battle.

It came out in the 1980s that in war games and simulations, the US Navy assumes it will not lose a single aircraft carrier. I wish I were joking.

Be All You Can Be in stilettos:

If the PTB think for one moment that this sort of nonsense hasn't had an impact, how can they even plan for an adequate defense let alone prosecute an offensive war if need be? Fact is, they can't. China and Russia have figured this out and are using Ukraine to drain the US/NATO of its capability. The present woke stupidity all but guarantees little cannon fodder.

Want the borders closed? Just announce a draft and watch how fast this regime will seal off the borders.

A while ago I saw a news story from America about badly wounded military Vets, lost limbs etc During the lead up to the story they showed so many female personnel, Hispanic and Black personnel but they were all just file footage and photos.

When the story proper started almost every single badly damaged soldier was *drum roll* male and white. It was not lost on me.

That's the problem though, they don't want less recruits but of better quality and suitability. They want lots of women, Alphabets and non whites. They have to dangle a different type of carrot to appeal to those people. I've even read stuff like the military paying for breast enlargements and sex reassignments etc.

It's highly unlikely that many if any at all of those people would ever see combat.

But they look great when on parade when you want to push an agenda.

During my (admittedly short) time in the Army, I can remember going through grenade training as an officer candidate. It was a coed course. For those of you who didn't go through this, there were a series of tasks you had to do, such as put the grenade into a trench from X meters away, engage a bunker, and throw the darn thing a minimal distance. For all such tasks that involved throwing the grenade a distance, women didn't need to throw as far as men.

One of my fellow candidates, who had been a buck sergeant in the Rangers before attending OCS, asked the instructors how we were supposed to let the enemy know that we had women in our unit, so they would have to let us get within the women's throwing requirement before they could throw grenades at us.

That question didn't go over very well.

I'd rather be in a platoon of high school quarterbacks if that's the case! I'd get creative and duck-tape 5 grenades together! I'll be the duck tape man!
