    Homeless Men Share Their Stories

I really relate to these gents. I've been homeless quite a few times, most of them not my fault. I've slept on park benches, strangers boats, friends couches, an old disused RAF military base, in my car for 8 months, in a tent in someones garden etc. I've missed meals, gone hungry, had to take a shit in dodgy places as I had no choice and I've frozen my balls off in the winter. Not been able to wash for days on end and smelling like ass, I've been banged up in a cell for trespassing on some rich wankers land, banged up in a cell because the ex called the cops on me for no reason and been made homeless that way. No word of a lie, I've been there. It fucking SUCKS. No one gives a shit about you as a man.

It's always men I see homeless. You might see the odd woman here and there but its mostly men. While I was back in the UK last year there was a homeless guy called John selling the Big Issue magazine which is a street magazine to raise awareness about homelessness. He is always outside Sainsburys (grocery store). I inevitably end up talking to him because he was keen to sell me a copy as I go inside, so I gave him the 2.50 and said "fucking hell it used to be a quid you wankers". I was joking of course and I'm shit at breaking the ice with strangers. He laughed and I shake his hand introducing myself which he's impressed with .We got talking and people walk past and stare at us, stare at me for stopping to talk to John like he's a diseased rat or rotting leper. He's a nice guy and has outstanding communication and public skills, theres no way I could stand there selling a magazine, I'd fucking give up after 5 mins. I tell him I'm looking for a job and struggling to keep my head above water. I know that I'm one wrong bad day away from being in Johns position. I'm no better of a man than he is anyway. John was only a few years older than me and was given a bum rap in life. You know what, all he wantd was for someone to stop and chat to him. Thats it. I see the cheer in him because someone is treating him like a fucking human being.

We shoot the shit for about half an hour. I asked him if he wanted anything from the shop but I cant remember what he asked for. I think it was just a drink. I didn't always have any money on me to buy the big issue or get him something. But I'd still stop and talk to him or say hi as I passed.

I know people moan about homeless dudes using the money they begged for to buy drugs and beer, but so would I if i had to sleep in a fucking shop doorway in the freezing winter. I'd be shooting up smack and trying to sleep through those biting cold winds. You can ask and apply for help and housing but we all know who gets all that shit instead.

The truth is- anyone can end up homeless at any time for whatever reason.

Anyway, heres some videos about homeless guys and their stories:

Re: Homeless Men Share Their Stories

Oh yes, I have been homeless too. In northern New Hampshire USA where the temperature can be 100 F degrees or -40 degrees F. I've gone so far as to live in a tent in the woods and make supper by drinking sweet sap from a neighbors maple sapping bucket in the spring with snow on the ground, living in a tent with thick blankets.

Eating cattail roots, fish, wild apples...the list goes on.

Years later while working at the newspaper I was walking to the gym at lunchtime as I always did. A homeless man asked me for a dollar - just a simple dollar - and told me he would pay me back the next time we met.

He went to a nearby store and bought a beer.

After that, every time I saw him walking my way he would cross the street. I considered the payment of that one dollar no loss to me.

It is amazing we can live through this and yet maintain the belief we can and will get through it.

I did. That dollar and other money I have given the world I call "seed money". It grows. By 10x, 20x, 100x, 1000x and more. I know this as a fact because it happened to me.

Say what you will, this is a true account.

Re: Homeless Men Share Their Stories

I worked in the homeless industry in the UK, I worked in a homeless hostel run by the salvation army.. It was a job I always wanted to do, so I've seen it first hand.

Here in the UK, the white man is treated as the lowest priority in social status, and according to the homeless referrals for help and housing we used, people who have 'issues' like drug and alcohol problems.. Anger and violent pasts, criminal records.. Mental illnesses etc are all on a higher priority to be housed than a man who just fell on hard times. But of course scumbags who steal and are dysfunctional using heroin daily who have never worked a day in their life have priority over a decent guy who just happens to be homeless..
The amount of referrals the hostel declined because a homeless man didn't have any issues apart from being homeless was disgusting.

There were women coming and going in the hostel but the ratio to men were evident.
While women who fall on hard times just go out and find a guy who has what they want or a decent income to help them in their situation, men on the other hand don't have that frame of mind, not to mention women who are going to become homeless intentionally get pregnant for obvious reasons.. They will get a house, and fast.. Selfishly ruining a child's life, men also don't have this option nor do they want too.

I lasted 2 years working with the homeless, and I am disgusted with the whole system, it's certainly not a fair one. A high portion of the so called homeless residents in the hostel were not even homeless.. They just wanted a quicker route to getting council housing, or the more common one was men not wanting to live with their parents anymore and wanting to stay at the hostel because they had friends there..

These people always got into rent arrears, where the government would pay the homeless in benefits to give to the hostel for rent., the drug issues were just ridiculous, walking around the hostel at night 3/4 in the morning I could hear snorting of cocaine.. The smell of weed, on a nightly basis, most of them stole of each other..
Yet according to policy, we shouldn't be throwing them out on the streets again because we are 'supposed' to be helping them..
I'm all for helping anybody in this world, but there is one condition, you must want to help yourselves also, which these scumbags never did.

My advice to anyone becoming homeless, stay away from hostels... These people are the lowest of the low, you will always find the morally and decent homeless people actually sleeping on the streets, as they can't put up with the lowlifes that stay in hostels and they admit it is safer to sleep on the street and I agree with them.

I wanted to help the homeless hence me taking on the job... I quickly lost interest. People that don't want help and just take the piss out of the system I have no time for, regardless of sex.

I also knew personally a guy who sold the big issue, he stated he done it for something to do, and because it got him talking to people.. And for beer money, He didn't care what people thought of him, I admired that. I often drank with him.. A genuine man.

And don't forget in the big cities most of the street beggars are not even homeless.. Looking rough in old tattered clothing and not bathing for a week and going out begging can get 100-200 a day, you only need people passing by throwing you pound coins or two pound coins and they earn this easy in a few hours.. The general public assume they have only given them spare change, but fail to realise every 5 mins someone else is doing the same.. And these con artists earn this is a few hours.

My biggest gripe here is with the government.. Making being street homeless illegal, you couldn't make it up.. They go out their way to fix metal cages around heating vents.. And putting spikes around shops where the homeless would sleep so they can't sleep there..

I have no hope for humanity nor this country, by my own experiences.

If you look at my YouTube channel, before I started posting MGTOW content, I diarized my "houselessness" of living in my old 1982 camper for the better part of the year on the west coast of Canada. That was one cold winter I tell you ...

GMOW - One Step At A Time

Re: Homeless Men Share Their Stories

Great Post DYD! Men to be aware of these displaced persons as you are quite correct, we all could become one very easily. I know that there are several MGTOW/GYOW members who have shared your homeless situation and have lived in cars, or things similar.

I have been helping serve meals to the regional homeless population on the 1st Saturday of each month for almost a year. There are few endeavors I take part in that provide a greater sense of awareness than this one. I also help homeless / under privileged veterans annually to receive social programs, medical assistance and clothing.

It is indeed very easy to pass this group without taking the time to engage them, much to the determent of both parties.

Re: Homeless Men Share Their Stories

Feminists quote the statistic that homeless women are more likely than homeless men to be drug addicted or mentally ill.

This is like complaining that people in the first world have it rougher than people in the third world because they are more likely to die of ass cancer. The reason we are more likely to die of ass cancer is that we are less likely to die from malaria.

The reason homeless women are more likely to be mentally ill or drug addicted than homeless men is that women don't wind up homeless simply by running out of money, as men do.

It's a sad state of affairs because here living in a hostel temporary gets you housed by the government quicker... A lot quicker, some residents were living here up to 3 years but at least they had a roof over their heads, and a place for mail to send too, where I was working was a hostel not a night shelter... They were so called homeless people staying there until the government found them a home to permanently live in. Some people got housed within 3 months, some 3 years... The whole system is flawed. Genuine decent homeless people avoid hostels because of the scum that stay there... And miss out, big time as even to get a job you need a place of residence and somewhere for post to be sent too, how are genuine nice homeless guys ment to get out their rut! Most of the scum in the hostels don't want to work... But there was a few that did have jobs, what the actual fuck they were doing living in a homeless hostel is beyond me, if you are working you can afford to live somewhere, your own home.. In my opinion not homeless, again the systems screwed.

As for drugs,.. I don't do such a thing, but when we found stashes of drugs our policy was to give it back to them and tell them to use it outside the property.. I'd tell them where to go if it were up to me.. But it was my job, one I was expecting to enjoy.

There was many rumors that the hostel manager was buying weed and steroids of one resident, and another hostel worker smoking weed while at work in a residents bedroom.

I had many dreams of doing bad things to the lot of them I tell you.,

Sounds like an interesting job, if shitty and annoying.

I once worked as a security guard at a half way house here in New Zealand in 2009/2010. You had pedos and criminals living there. Loads of transvestites, fucking weirdos and freaks and all sorts. Some of the deranged and nasty residents (the constant trouble makers) got me sacked, because they didn't like me doing my job and made up bullshit lies about me, and the fucking multi millionaire female owner believed them! I told them all to go fuck themselves and the place got damaged to fuck in the big earthquake a year later. Ha-ha-ha, karma you cunts!

We have a lot in common.. My job title was security, however it involved childminding more than anything else.
Oh yeah we had pedos too, the weird and the trouble makers..
One day one resident called anothers girlfriend fat (she was, huge) he picked up a kitchen knife as we were all in the kitchen cooking dinner... I grabbed the knife blade as he was holding it and said 'no you dont' he started on me then... He said you don't fucking get to tell me what to do, lol.. He soon put the knife down and walked off in a stress.
I was respected there.. I was firm but very fair with them,
They was mostly scared of me as I was head doorman at a big club in town as well as doing that job, one night one of the residents at the hostel was off his face on drugs in the club and the manager wanted him out.. I explained this and he wanted to attack the manager, I said are you mad I'm working & I have to do my job.. The idiot wouldn't leave it alone, I ended up flattening him outside the club in the middle of the road..
My next shift at the hostel let's just say he was embarrassed and kept a distance.

I was a bouncer as well 2 years or so ago for about 6 years in New Zealand. Fucking hated it. Many stories to tell lol.

In New Zealand you get away with alot more shit than UK. I've really busted up a few cunts here. I've worked at some pretty warped dive bars as well. The scum that frequent those places...all need shooting,

Homeless veteran lived in the shadow of downtown

Eccles, 68, was a Vietnam War veteran. While still a teenager, he served in the 27th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army, a group of fighters nicknamed the “Wolfhounds,” his family said. He fought in C Chi in South Vietnam in 1968, fending off surprise attacks from a vast network of enemy, underground tunnels dug by the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong armies.
But it was in the wooded shadows tucked just beyond the motions of daily downtown life that Eccles most recently lived, ate, drank alcohol and slept.

    It’s where he died.

Edgerton resident John Eccles, Dan Eccles’ brother, said Dan Eccles had been troubled since young adulthood. He had struggled to move on with his life after Vietnam and had been homeless off and on for years, struggling with alcohol abuse and remaining jobless much of his adult life.

“He was a Vietnam vet and one of the guys whose mind never came home from the war,” John Eccles said.

John Eccles said he, Dan and several of their siblings had been split up into foster care as children after their home burned. John has spent the last 25 years trying to locate all his siblings, but he said the one closest to him, Dan, had slipped in and out of his life for years.

“Through the years, I tried so hard to help him financially, morally and spiritually. I tried everything. He wouldn’t ever come out of it,” John Eccles said. “What the war did was it made him drink, and drinking made him die.”

-------clif notes of the write up. Another vet lost because of the VA system.
