Thread: Happy Thanksgiving to all

Just a fast note:

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American members, and for those outside the US, have a great weekend.

I could celebrate with friends, but the last few years it's just been me and the cat. I like it that way. Everybody does things a little differently. This way everything's cooked when and how I want it.

What family I got lives too far away to be worth visiting, at least on a big holiday weekend when traveling is always a bitch.

Happy thanksgiving

I spent my Thanksgiving all alone in my house a week before I have to leave it behind. I watched something on TV (WGN Channel 9) that came on back when my parents were young and it lasted when I was young; Bozo's Circus 1960s 1970s and then the Macy's Parade on NBC 5. I talked to my mom and best friend for a while, looking back at the past 19 1/2 years I spent in this house. Then instead of making a turkey and traditional dinner for myself, i just had chicken breast and sticky white rice. Watched The Wizard Of Oz on TBS.

My first Thanksgiving since my dad died and my final one before I have to move next week.

I had crappy turkey at the Bourbon House in the French quarter.

Sort of has become a ritualistic thing for me.

However I am going brunch with a 4’11” spinner tomorrow. So…glass half full of…something?
