As for her comments, could the centenary not afford the right opportunity to reconsider whether providing women the right to vote is working out as intended? I think it is a general feeling that uninformed voters should not vote.

Perhaps a good way to frame it is to use the recently linked to data on which gender pays far less attention to foreign affairs, economics, etc.; and pose the question that "it's been a hundred years. When, if ever, are women going to take their responsibilities as voters seriously? "

Of course we know the answer is never, but questions provoke thought in ways that statements don't.

Wow, a full year of feminist books, maybe a new scum manifesto and of course more 50 shades of grey "novels" and other crappy romance novels, sound awful but, who cares? I only read classics, fantasy novels or science material.

Men will still be writing and publishing during that little year even if we have to do it ourselves out of our own pockets. Why? Because men don't need feminist cheering circles and worldwide browbeating to accomplish anything.

But I don't want to go a year without reading.

That's unlikely given how many of the founders and strident exponents of feminism are Jewish...!
