    Re: Arsonist Beyatch

Every day, I pass people in the street. I have no idea who they are or what they are capable of. And they look like this woman.

    That is the ultimate horror.

    Imagine that.

After our office got burned, a cop told us the penalty for arson was ten years, and twenty years for arson with a timer. Will this honey do 10 years? Highly unlikely. Since she's crazy, she'll walk. Maybe a slap on the wrist, that's the worst she'll get.

From the Office of the State Fire Marshall:

CECIL COUNTY, MD (April 29, 2021) - Deputy State Fire Marshals charged an Elkton woman with multiple arson-related charges, including attempted murder, after intentionally setting her home on fire while another person was inside.

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Singerly Fire Company and surrounding fire departments responded to the unit block of Cherry Lane in Elkton for a reported dwelling fire.

Witnesses reported observing a woman, later identified as Gail J. Metwally, 47, setting multiple fires within the home and then setting in a chair on the front lawn, where she watched the fire engulf the home. After a few minutes, Metwally walked away from the scene. While the home was on fire, witnesses heard an occupant in a basement window yelling for help. Bystanders safely assisted her out the window. While responding to the scene, Cecil County Sheriff's Office observed Metwally in the area, where she was detained and transported to the Maryland State Police North East Barrack.

Deputy State Fire Marshals responded and conducted an origin and cause investigation and concluded the fire was incendiary (arson) in nature. A total of 4 people resided in the home, including Metwally. Two were not home, while the third was still inside when Metwally committed the arson.

Metwally has been charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, 1st Degree Arson, 1st Degree Assault, two counts of Malicious Burning 1st Degree, two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property, and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.

Metwally is currently being held at the Cecil County Detention Center, pending a District Court Commissioner hearing.

I didn't find any update on her case.

Attempted murder, (first and second degree) 1st degree arson, 1st degree assault, two counts of Malicious burning, 1st degree, two counts Malicious Destruction of Property, and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.

I thought they'd let her slide. I've never been so happy to be wrong, she must a really pissed off the police. From what I've heard, a Reckless Endangerment charge is bad news. And she's got two, along with attempted murder, arson, and Malicious burning. All this ought to wipe that smile off her mug shot photo.

Crazy people tear up so much shit and usually get away with it. I'm really glad this one going to jail, hopefully for a long time. Thank you Unboxxed, for digging up the charges.

Please know I was not trying to point this at you. But you did get me curious as to what happened to her by now, seven months later, so I went looking for a court outcome and found only these charges. I assumed I'd find an update, a trial, a judgement, etc. Maybe next year.

You may not be wrong. We'll have to see. There's enough detail in that article I quoted that anybody stumbling onto this thread down the road might have enough there to find an update.

I have to be honest. If I ever was so fucking stupid to get married, and she tried to divorce me? The first strike move is to slash and burn everything.

I will burn down every asset before she gets her cut. And make sure the cancel the insurance the day before. She gets 50% of the ash, I won't even challenge it in court.

And you'd see my ass sitting in a lawn chair eating popcorn and enjoy the flames. It's winter. Heat is good.

"Mental health issues" often ends up being a get out of jail card, especially for women. Even with all these charges she might yet weasel out.

What got me was her damn the torpedo's attitude. She must be mentally ill, to enjoy a douchebag move like this as much as she did. Did you see her mug shot? She was proud of what she did, and it looked like it was the happiest day of her life.

With all them charges, it's plain the cops didn't like her either, but like always, the courts will decide. She's lucky I'm not the judge.

    I was thinking that.

Every girlfriend I ever had was in some sort of therapy or taking something- either for depression, anxiety, etc. Then my sister got diagnosed as bipolar, and my entire childhood made sense, haha!

Yeah, that's about right. All the women in my family of origin are nuts.

My best friend don't hate his sister, but no one would blame him if he did. She's had it out for him their entire lives, and both are now pushing 70. Said she wanted their dad's truck for her son, then sold it and kept the money.

Living with my old man wasn't much fun, but at least no bipolar sister. Guess I was luckier than I used to think.
