someone asked the poet Sophocles: "How are you in regard to sex, Sophocles? Can you still make love to a woman?" Hush man, the poet replied, I am very glad to have escaped from this, like a slave who has escaped from a mad and cruel master."

Thank you for all the work you have put into this site over the years and I totally understand your reasoning for closing it down.
I hope I can reconnect with some of the regulars on another forum down the road. It has been a very instructive experience for me.
I've never led a "conventional" life and have no intention of changing that.
Best to luck to all and a sincere thank you to all that have contributed.

It's been an honor and a pleasure, gentlemen. My life is different and better for the time that I spent here with you. It will be missed, but as others have said, everything changes over time, and all good things do indeed come to an end.

    Cheers!

Thank you for all you've done with this incredible forum and hard work supporting MGTOW Sovereign Men. I'm Sorry to see it end but then again we must always go on to bigger and better things.

I think there is a website called the Red Pill Archive that stores old men's rights blogs that have shut down. Just thought of it while reading your post.

Obviously there's a lot of articles on here that need saving for the benefit of other men, any ideas on the best way to archive them ?

I had a problem registering cause the email I was using was linked to another forum I very rarely visit. I just put in another email and had no problems.

    May I make a suggestion?

If maintaining the forums is too expensive, you can just move the forums to:
    https://www.proboards.com/

It is a free forums hosting site.

Re: After almost 10 years, GYOW is winding down (we will end the forums on May 10)

    Thanks you jagrmeister.

Your efforts will never be forgotten for you went above and beyond to create a space for discussion for men. Hopefully during that time period these forums were open it inspired men to be something more than a simple cog in the system or give up on life. Loving yourself as a man should be priority #1 and you do that by embracing this world and tackling the challenges that comes with it all on your terms. And what you find contentment and happiness with as well. Saving a man's life is well worth it in the end as the goal of these forums as you outlined were always to guide men back on the path of going their own way in a meaningful way and not to drift into the obsidian abyss.

I can personally point to the progress I made in my life since joining this forum.

I was able to finish my degree, pay off all major debts and also start to diversify my retirement funds. I was also able to add a zero to my net worth all because of the discipline I learned from other men here sharing their life experiences.

This knowledge also allowed me to take more calculated risks that helped me find a better job and leave a bad toxic job situation. Being able to walk away from a bad situation is really important skill and knowledge to have as a man. Priority #1 from my view.

As a lurker from nacho's forum around 2012 to a member here mgtow has been a net positive in my life. For that all I can say is thank you and tip my hat.

Your story of being homeless resonated with me in that I never want to be put in that position. So being a homeowner and building a fuck you fund is how going my own way has improved my mental and spiritual self IMO.

Good luck to you sir and I am sure you are going to see better days ahead.

Before I became a homeowner I faced the prospect of being homeless and it was a very tough time for me as I had no networth to speak of in terms of properties, vehicles or even retirement fund.

Thinking back to how much progress I have made in only 11 years when I am 40 now just goes to show how quickly things change better or worse. But any storm can be weathered as a man because we are built to learn from trial and error.

    Enjoy your new home.

I have been homeless a few times in my life but the one after my fire was the worst cause I had NOBODY. Being homeless during the "wifey days" was a pain in the ass but I could still go to a friend's house or Mom's if I swallowed my pride. All my so called friends turned on me after my divorce and My mom was dead when I had my fire. There are 6 shelters for women in my area but only 2 for men. It's really only one cause the other one is never open. You had to catch the bus in front of the soup kitchen. First come, first serve. You were woken up at 5:30am and dropped off at 7am in the city which is totally hood. Nobody bothered me cause I am not be too tall but I am built like a football player. I also had no problems cause I live & let live.

I am much better in 2 and a half years. I walked into my current place with nothing but my mom's urn. I got a Vaccuum, A Little cheap TV, a PS2 , a couch pillow and blanket, and a WCW Mayhem game the day I moved in. Spent $30 at a thrift store in town. That's it. I turned the place into a home all by myself. Nobody helped me except my landlord. People are only around for the good times. But they don't want to create good times with you.

It's why I love MGTOW. We all go our own way and share our experiences. Fuck what anyone else thinks.

Genuinely sad to hear this, as I was starting to use this site more and more, despite some recent health issues which I've not fully resolved yet. I wish you all the best and appreciate all the discussions I've read/been a part of.

Re: After almost 10 years, GYOW is winding down (we will end the forums on May 10)

Tried to send our fearless leader an E-mail, but it said we had no Jägermeister. Guess the phone's turned off. So, I'll just tell everyone, it's probably the best way.

There's another site, started by guys who used to be but are no longer friends with Jag. They have members who used to post here, and a few who are still active. With us going down, they invited me, and a few others to join. Since I know this site better, they let me offer the same deal to the guys who have given me enough likes over the years! Just kidding. So far eight of us have joined, with a few more on the way.

If you want to know why you weren't asked, I guess it's because I'm a worthless piece of shit who's turned his back on his buds. Really, I would have liked to invite a lot more of you, but that's not how it works.

What the fallout between Jag and these guys was, I don't know and don't care. Wombats not on their Christmas card list either.

Re: After almost 10 years, GYOW is winding down (we will end the forums on May 10)

Any chance someone can make a PDF of the articles, stickies, key terms, etc?
I have been a lurker over the years, and the content on this forum really helped me get through my divorce and understand what happened.
I would really like to have a backup that I could reference.
    Thanks.
