    The Signal from MGTOWHQ

    Greetings, all,

I seem to be in a temporary refugee status as the old MGTOWHQ site got canned and/or moved, and I haven't been able to find the new site.

    Who am I?

I'm an American academic who goes by "The Signal" on MGTOWHQ for several years now and by some made-up shite that I use for a Red-ditz log-in. I'm in my forties, a confirmed and convinced bachelor who noped out of relationships with women way back in the 1990s during the college campus political correctness craze (tame compared to this current one), and really hasn't looked back since.

What Do I like to Do?

I read a lot of theology, politics, economics, and philosophy. As can be seen, I am a firm believer in the Oxford comma. I also like to work on cars, work on guns, play golf, sip whiskey slowly, and I fucking hate gardening (seriously).

    Why Am I Here?

Oh, I'm just here for the chicks 'n' pizza. No.

    I'm here:

    (1) Because I'm trying to get hold of some members here who are fellow members of the HQ site and I badly need their guidance on what the new URL is (fukkin' invisible, isn't it?).

    (2) Because MGTOW seems to be getting hounded these days, doesn't it, and I really, really don't like people going around trying to tell the rest of us what we're permitted to think and believe. So this is a fairly active MGTOW site with pretty decent anti-troll and anti-SJW-marauder security measures, so I'd like to join for both reading and contributing content. And the spicy comments--I always love the spicy comments, wot wot.

    Why Am I a Bachelor?

    (1) I find women emotionally unnecessary, as I have since around 2003 (my last real crush was this girl I knew back in 2000, and that went way south because I was a broke grad student and she wanted a man who was "established," yo).

    (2) Come on--have you seen what Western women are like today??? Would YOU want that??!! Seriously--they've become a perfect, hyper-entitled shit show with piss-all to offer as compensation. If I were a young man still looking to find a nice girl, I would be in a deep, deep depression right now. Like, I mean a Dostoyevsky-and-Camus-together-on-barbiturates-and-whiskey-level depression. I do not envy today's young men for what they have to face and deal with.

    Relationship History

Well, I mean, not counting that regrettable misunderstanding with the alpacas in Costa Rica, I've had about a half-dozen girlfriends in my life, starting at 16 with my first high school girlfriend (who was the most perfectly mental head case you will ever meet). I dated enthusiastically throughout college, but only had two really serious relationships in that time, both of which went south on account of what the younger crowd today calls "branch-swinging." In one instance, she swang to another lad's branch, in the other I was the branch to which she swung, but her old boyfriend came begging her back after a few months and she went back to him. At the time I had almost no clue how fabulously fucked up that whole situation was and the extent to which she took advantage of both the old beau and me, but afterward I learned to be less trusting and gullible. In grad school I had three more serious girlfriends, but they all expected me to bow to their feminist icons and were visibly upset by the reply, "No." So those ended, too.

After I read Warren Farrell's The Myth of Male Power in 1995, things really starting clicking into place for me in my thinking, and by 2000-2001 I was pretty much done with the dames. The deal really got sealed in 2003 when I took a teaching job that had me move across the country, and after I moved I just didn't see much point in pursuing women anymore. I was happy, I had what I wanted (my teaching post), I was making more money than I'd figured out how to spend, and solitude had become very sweet to me. So that was that.

    How Did I Discover MGTOW?

You know, I almost don't remember now. I think it was about five or six years ago that a buddy who was having a bad divorce told me about the Red Pill subreddit on the Red-ditz, so I started lurking there to see what the deal was, saw some links to arrh/MGTOW, followed them, and first realized I was in fact not quite as unusual as I'd believed. I mean, I'd already been a confirmed inveterate bachelor for years by then, but then I started reading some of the classic stuff by huMan, stardusk, and a few others, and that's when I realized it was a widespread phenomenon. A little sociobiological explanation for human behavior goes a pretty long way, you know? So a few years ago I joined that subreddit the same time I joined MGTOWHQ.com and MGTOW.com and posted at the first two regularly (almost daily) until a few months back--I absolutely am not kidding--I got perma-banned from the arrh/MGTOW subreddit when I mentioned that Wittgenstein was gay (which he was, along with being a bloody genius).

Now, as for how I found this site, it really was just a Google search--again, totally not kidding.

Thank you, TheSignal, for rewriting your Intro to fit this site's requirements. It is nice when a good Intro is cheerfully provided without a lot of back and forth messaging, as happens with many newbies. Yeah, you are experienced MGTOW. You "get it".

Just to let others know, you told me in PM that you do want to become a member here even though upon first read it appeared you had only wanted the new URL. I had said that I was good if that was all you had wanted from us. All MGTOW is good.

In the email that the site sent to their registered members, it provided the new URL and request it not be published.

I have removed you from moderation and you are now good to post on this site.

Once you get reestablished over there, I hope we won't necessarily lose you over here. But, all is good.

Oh, I'm not going to do the dine-and-dash on you guys; I'm sticking around. This place is active and has what seems a good group dynamic, so I'll be posting soon.

    Welcome.

I kinda feel chuffed about how this site is the one that has endured. Clear rules, no-nonsense moderation. And, no doubt, cheap hosting .

    No nonsense. Damn right.

Or, we fell backwards into some good luck by not having "MGTOW" in our URL. LOL.

Or, jagr is prescient if he avoided doing that.

I'll go with the latter, because I am a suck-up.

This site has endured because we have always had a pretty good grip on things on the Admin/Mod side. People got banned for the right reasons, not just because someone had a hair trigger temper, some who have been banned may disagree, but many people have been given multiple chances.

I think there are definitely differences between the membership of hidden forums, and those that are more public. I also think the vetting process has been and always will be 100% perfection, it's pretty easy to suss out who would be a good fit here and who wouldn't over the years.
