Well now, that was a whole paragraph that you typed. I wish you could devote as much time to providing what we request as you spend typing what you feel like saying. You are exceptional at saying only what you want, not what others want. And that's the problem.

I, too, was thinking you and I were at the end of the line here.

The Intro is all about giving a shit about those to whom you communicate. We are not a one-way monologue like your youtube video. In this community, you have to show you are interested in more than yourself or you won't survive here. You can't just say whatever you want here and tell us to eat it.

Think about it. We have rules of behavior here that you would have to read and obey. If you cannot quickly understand the Intro, you would also be very difficult to understand the Terms of Service here and I won't put myself or the other Moderators through the idea of chasing you repeatedly to obey the rules. You would get thrown out of here right away.

Not everyone is a good fit here. Thank you for trying. I am now going to close your account with us.

    Good luck to you.

I think this sums up a very important part of why acceptable intros are necessary. Is there some way to sticky it?

Yeah, I had a rare moment of clarity, didn't I? LOL.

Do you mean sticky the entire thread? If only sticky what you quoted of me, it might not make sense out of its context.

I knew when I read the OP and first revision (see Posts 3 & 4) that this would never work out. One has to bring a certain level of interpersonal experience to the table and that's one of life's learning curves. We each travel it at different rates of speed. The gentleman lacks conscientiousness.

That's why I saved the revisions as we went because I figured no one in the future visiting this thread who saw his revised Post #1 would believe me.

I think most of the thread would need to be stickied to make sense. Maybe we need a "Unsatisfactory Introductions" section? It might be good to put with the "Banned members" section. Showing how not to write and intro and showing how not to behave might have value. Just a thought. Or maybe your comments could be prefaced and added to the "Why have intros" page.

Saving the revisions was a smart move, agreed. It also creates a "paper trail" so everyone can see the great "Blob O' Text". Punctuation? We don't need no stiiiinkiiin punctuation!

Actually, it was something Boar wrote in another thread that I should credit, and I just found it. Here's what he said:

I understand. If they cannot respect the rules of the forum, then it is doubtful they will respect the forum members.

That was a great thought, I thought. It was the basis of what I wrote.

    Re: hey guys

After reading this thread, I would like to add that being familiar with the OPs channel, I didn't sense a fit with this community. The point about dialogue vs. monologue is very apt. I don't think it's necessarily a generational factor so I don't want to paint with a wide brush but this could play a role. Also, it depends on what part of someone's MGTOW journey they're in.

There are all kinds of MGTOW communities as we are driven by ideas and philosophy (qualities that we develop within ourselves) not external / hereditary characteristics (other than having a Y chromosome). Steel sharpens steel and I value the quality of ideas, questions, and conversations here which only a clear new user policy can foster.

Unboxxed, thank you for doing this largely thankless work. This stout's for you!
