    Accepting isolation

    So I have a mental disability and was always isolated growing up, what are some tips to enjoy solitude and the fact I'll always be isolated?

    Not enough info to give sound advice, ask god, he reads minds, we read words.

    -Stop listenning, watching movies, music and any midia that have friendship or romance in it;
    -Realize that most friendship is fake or temporary anyway;
    -Realize that if people donīt tolerate your mental issues, then they are not soo good to have around anyway (this is the most important).

    Also have a hobbie and fill your time, then you will realize that you donīt really have time for others. Life is really too short to spend with undesirable people.

    Tough for me to say, because I've always gravitated toward solitude and it doesn't bother me (rather, I prefer it). I like peace and solitude to work on my own interests, at my pace, without explicit or implicit pressure to hurry up so that "we" can go do something else.

    I appreciate these posts and would welcome more. Having a bit of a time after the GF moved out even though she was driving me nuts. I work from home now and see people on video every day, but never see anyone in person. I order everything online, they drop it at my door. Pickup groceries from the curb. Still hard to accept there are actually no good women out there in this country, but I have proved it to myself over and over.

    Now with the vax that will kill and/or disable and/or ruin your immune system (if you get the real thing not a placebo) you can't even get satisfaction at a legal outlet because they will lie about that too...whatever it takes to get your $ they will do it. Pump and dump is too dangerous for the same reason. How can you trust anyone to tell you their true status?

    I digress, but could use some thoughts on how to live now.

    Does this really matter? Itīs like say "there is someone with perfect genes". Yeah, maybe. So what? Can you even see these genes?

    Acceptance

    So basically was upset I never had the "college experience" cause I started working after hs and am now almost 25. I realize now it wouldnt have happened anyway since I have a mental disability and was rejected all the time through school anyway so that was kind of reassuring but how can I completely learn to enjoy my solitude and not feel any longing?

    Hi Mantow,

    You had made two separate threads, basically the same, so I've now merged them here.

    Look into the practice of meditation. You may not be able to get to where you never feel any longing, but you can better at not identifying with it. Then it's more like a passing cloud going through the mind. Longing comes up. Like all thoughts or sensations it can fade away, if you allow it.
