    Skills for bachelors.

I was considering a blog about living life as bachelors. There is tons of skills you have to know for yourself if you want to save money and live nice life.

So some of the skills i would like to talk about are:
    - Cooking. How/what to cook, to have decent diet, but not to spend tons of money. It also can be extremly interesting to cook. I like to prepare my food upfront. Specially breakfast i don't like cooking breakvast.
    - Cleaning your clothes. So this is also important part. Where to wash clothes? What is most affordable and best solution? Owning a washer/dryer, or paying someone else to do it for you?
    - Fixing things in your home. So this is important one. I generally know to fix pretty much any small failure in home. I even paint home myself.
    - Garden, if you have it, flowers, and stuff.
    - Car stuff or motorcycle if you own one.
    - Earning money. (if someone is open to do that)
    - Social skills. How to get along with other people that probably have way differnt views than you do.

That is on top of my mind, i will write some stuff about subjects later, feel free to join and share expiriances.
Important: English is not my first language. Sometimes i make grammer and spelling mistakes. Be a friend and correct me politely, don't be mean and rude.

    Good thread.

In terms of laundry, much cheaper to do your own. But watch out for driers. You may as well light a bonfire with £5 notes. If you have nice weather, your luck's in. If not, use an indoor airer but you need some heat too, maybe a small oil heater. Nothing stinks worse than damp clothes.

Can't help too much about earning money, but if anyone's interested I can help with financial planning. Might be worth a thread of its own.
I work in financial planning. I am interested in metal (all kinds), miniature painting and PC gaming. I live in Scotland.

    Re: Skills for bachelors.

If apartment living, never use their apartment washer/dryers in America. You will always SAVE HALF the cost if you find a good cheapo laundrymat. Plus since it is not at your own place, as long as you stay during the dryer phase, unlike an apartment where you might just think "why not kick back and watch TV at my place so some bastard/cunt can steal my clothes, just stay during the drying phase and that's it.

But this is in America in various regions from my 43 years of experience. Might be different in the UK or Serbia.

And last but not least, yep, Thomas, it works the same on this side of the pond. Want to find a decent dryer since they like to charge per 8 or ten minutes. Fortuntely, they are decent though some are a joke and you or I would naturally weed out those ones.

That's where I think an extra set of towels, sheets, socks, EVERYTHING pays off. Like near a months worth. That way, with a back up set of towels for just showers, then another one for one shower sopping accidents can help. So not only do you only have to do laundry virtually once a month...you have enough extra clothes so that you are not erasing life from them with each wash/dry by only doing it once a month.

Yes, I also think that this is really important. Especially for those men who live in "hard-to-live" countries (like here in Brazil). Serbia is not like Western European countries but surely it is better than Brazil and than most countries around the world. If a man live in a poor country where the "law of the jungle" prevails, he must have extra knowledge to live alone and safe.

When young, I had a rough time telling fair weather friend's from the real thing. It seldom ended well.

Now day's, I wait till some rotten job come's up and count nose's. Your fair weather friend's alas, will ALL have other commitment's. Sometime real friend's will too, but their around most of the time.

I feel dumb just talking about something as basic as friendship. You'd think it important to most of us. But I'm hear to say there's a lot a people out there who for whatever reason make lousy friend's. Greed, competition, stupidity, just plain meanness, there's a hundred reason's. In fact, it's surprising how few people you'll meet that make good friend's. And let's not forget how many times cupcake don't want her man being friend's with no single jerk. Or anyone else.

When someone turn's out to be untrustworthy, don't nuke e'm. Quietly move on, all that's needed is to not depend on them any more. Life's too short to damn every asshole who let ya down. Course that's harder to do than it is to say.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.

A very good thread that remains relevant to the men of today.

Basic life skills remain vitally important to anyone attempting to go their own way.

Knowing how to care for yourself, your living environment and your home are key to establishing an home and or safe zone.

Financial advice is always relevant, regardless of where you are in life or what you station in life is.

I started with most the usual skills. I learned to cook, wood work ,weld and fix engines. Then I took it further and learned to sew, prop making, brewing, remodling. Keep adding skills on top of skills and you start to learn faster and see more crossovers from one skill to the next. Before you know it can do so much stuff you can make about anything from a youtube video, or an idea in your head. My advice is just keep adding skills your whole life and you will be to busy to ever be bored. I also recommend learning the fine arts, dressing well, shooting, martial arts and all the classy and manly stuff.

Check Frost. The benefit to lifelong learning is that this activity will help keep your brain active and probably offset dementia.

Yes it is wise not to burn bridges if you don't have to. Sometimes you later see these people again - sitting in key positions - and they could hamper your success if you have turned them into an enemy.

    Just quietly move on.

Make enemies only if you can't avoid it.

    LOL.

I have survived a severe Heavy Metal, Pesticide and Dioxin poisoning and Dementia was crawling up on me... But writing almost 11000 posts on "a MGTOW forum" contributed largely to the improvement of my memory skills and I can now write English more fluently than German. But I also wrote 600 pages about my condition which was irrefutable by anyone and while writing I moved from enlightenment to enlightenment which again lead to my survival: Getting to the point that I have "must have" an 8th chemical in my body - and testing + removing it - kept me from getting MS.

Now, years later my body sweat slowly stops etching holes into leather and clothes.

Fantastic post Gargamel. There are daily posts regarding how the body heals itself from injuries, illnesses and ailments that modern medicine cannot explain. Most of us have heard tales about herbal medicine / shaman / positive thinking stopping and reversing the effects that would normally be terminal.

Keep posting my friend and I am glad that you left the sinking ship when you did.

Well, 4 and a half years ago, I manged to recognize how to get poison out of my body: The flies and mosquitoes died in my sweat and this was my awakening. I knew that this works. Thousands of kilometers though the forest air, filling me up with water and energy drinks (The ingredients dissolve PCP and taurine replaces the taurine the heavy metals take away from the liver)... And my clothes suddenly got holes in them. Everything I touched got fingerprint spots and paint came off. The leather seats in my 2 cars have collapsed, the steering wheel is held together by shoe polish. The stick shift is now plastic, the leather gone.

And how I got behind the knowledge to come home from walking and induce further sweating by putting the 2000 Watt radiator next to the bed (in the hot summer).

And those areas of my skin which had sweat the most became numb... And since 2017 I start to feel things again. This is not in the medical books.

My skin became numb but my CNS was saved. But numb skin was easier to live with. No wheelchair for me. The other guy who had rented this poisoned place before me is dead since 2015 and spent 17 years with MS in a wheelchair.

My insurance is impressed by my survival skills. And they are pleased I do not need expensive care.

"Heavy Metal Sweat" that just begs to be the cover track of a Spinal Tap album.
Western medicine has been wearing intellectual blinders since the 1930's, if not earlier.

Well, in the 19th century they used barium salt to protect wooden structures of buildings from insects, mold and woodworm...

If you now live in such a house and the place gets humid walls, (the old building smell) this salt evaporates and transfers into the air you breathe. Micrograms with every breath you take. And since it is water soluble, it is absorbed by almost 100 percent into your bloodstream... And your bones kick out calcium and "marry" barium instead...
And your muscle tissue also loves to store barium.

1 decade later, all you need is a virus infection of some sort (a swine flu) to release it all at once. And you are dead as if someone had put it into your food.

That same barium was also sold as rat poison till about 1950.

I had acute symptoms for months and no doctor could help me... The barium was discovered "by accident" 3 years later. I survived simply by doing some things right.

And the story doesn't end there. There were 7 more chemicals in that place. Ticks who bite me still die of the dioxin in my fat tissue and skin.

But barium rat poison is a salt, like the sodium salt in food, but highly toxic. 0.2 grams knock you flat and 2 grams kill you. According to my calculations, I must have had 2 to 20 grams in my body when I had to stop working.

So there can be "metal" in your sweat. And kill insects that land on your wet skin.

    BTW:

In the U.S., arsenic was used on very many wooden structures. It is now banned but what was used once is still out there. Same health issues.
