Thanks and being a new guy, I appreciate some ribbing and the understanding. It's nice to find a community of men that think the way I do about being in a relationship with a woman. One of my good friends who said he would never be married, got married in his 30's. She cheated on him and left him for another guy. He was depressed as hell and swore to basically go MGTOW without knowing about the movement. He called me last week and he is dating another woman now. Some guys young and old, just have to have a ball and chain I guess.

"Woman's work" is another term that would be puzzling to younger people. They really did break things down back then. Some couples, anything indoors was woman's work, while the man was responsible for anything outside the house. Most couples didn't take it quite that far, my parents broke their tasks down by who was best suited for any particular job. Dad could get by if mom was gone, but he wasn't that good at household crap. I hated batching with him and we were both happy when mom returned.

Back then, long term bachelors were usually boozers. Getting married was the norm. Of course, some couples were far more successful than others. They ranged from really happy to barely making it. But damned near everybody signed up, that's just how it was back then.

On the eve of Independence Day in America, I content myself with the knowledge that one of my forefathers probably shot one of Spooky's forefathers.

Those guys crack me up. Every woman is a "lady". Every woman regardless of her age is "Young lady" those men will call a 50 plus year old woman "young lady". And yes they do flex over how much they can blow on a woman or their kids etc They come from a time when the mark of a man was being a provider.

They haven't worked out that times have changed and those "young ladies" aren't young, ladies or appreciate being called that term!

You hit the nail on the head about the boomer flex thing with women. At least in the boomer 1% er or 1% wanna be segment. A trophy wife or girlfriend appears to be a huge thing to these types.

I've had the displeasure of witnessing the simp behavior IRL quite a bit. I had family that I visited frequently. They lived in a high end area. So we would often have lunch at top line resorts. Or high end restaurants in the immediate area. The people watching was amazing!

Basically saw two types of women. Age appropriate or young bimbo Golddiggers. Age appropriate women were fossilized remains of hot women in the day. All wearing too much makeup. All wearing style and fashion meant for younger women. Some almost pulled off the younger fashions. Till you got a look closer up. The wall was way back in her rearview mirror. Hit it a long time ago.

Young bimbos you can understand. First look at them and you knew it was all about the cash with this guy. She was no different than the Bentley or Ferrari he purchased. Just another shiny toy to show off. You would see all the high end wheels valet parked in front of the sidewalk cafe's in the area. The closer to the front door. The bigger the tip to the valet.

A big percentage of both types of women had these little yappy dogs they dragged with them everywhere. Yes, even into the restaurants. Where everyone had to comment on oh how cute it was. You could see most of these men could not stand dealing with the dog. Yet they sucked it up. Acted like it was so sweet how much the woman loved her dog. She just can't bear to be without it. She is such a loving person.

A fossil woman lived across the street from where I would stay. Little white yappy dog included. In a home that was a rental. She was for the 1% wanna be dudes. From across the street you could see the age on her. No matter the amount of fakeup or young fashion she wore. Many times I would visit and there was a different BMW or Jaguar or Cadillac picking her up. They just could not get enough of this zero of a woman. Hysterical to watch these men chase the stupid dog around when it got loose.

To me these men were an embarrassment to my gender and my generation. To them they had it all.

Some of the problem is behavioral conditioning. Most of these guys got married many years ago. Marriage is an institution. Remember the discussions of "institutional men" from the movie Shawshank Redemption? When finally let loose from the prison, they can't handle it.

For those of us with independent spirit, it can be astounding to witness. One of my grandfathers did it. I don't believe his marriage was especially happy, but when my grandmother died, he went out and quickly found himself another wife. In his case narcissistic tendencies might've played into it. He needed the attention.

At this point I'm convinced the vast majority of men are unable to evolve past their biological condition. I've seen some insane simping take place, men that completely agree with me when I present some MGTOW logic but can't apply it in any shape of form. Obsessed with women, female nature, pussy, whatever it is. I don't think it matters generationally either; Gen Z guys do tend to drift towards more of the extremes (a lot of hating women memes on one end and absolute grovelling for a crumb of punani on the other, though I wonder if the former is just a front...) but they've seen female nature completely exposed on social media and still act like there are good girls out there. I don't get it. Let them find out the hard way, I'm done trying to educate.

I wouldn't say unmarried people were shunned in the fifties. The wedded bliss types would be civil, but you were clearly an outsider. The women didn't want no stray stuff tempting their men, and this was long before single mom became a thing. The term back then was single whore. Am not saying they was right, that's just how they were.

As far as being a single man goes, I'm not sure how they were treated. There were always single guys in the American west. Women no doubt thought you were cowardly scum for not having a ball and chain. With men you were probably ok if you left their wives alone, but you know that don't always happen. So, no red carpets for singles of either sex back then. That don't sound like much today, but it wasn't as easy to get around back then. Cars were slow and roads were crap. Flying was for rich people. For far away friends it was snail mail or party line phones with crippling long-distance charges. Few could afford much of that. Most people were stuck with those around them and even if you could get away, wherever you went was going to be more of the same.

Most men eventually said the hell with it and joined up would be my guess. The good old days were not all good.

My Dad passed away two and a half years ago and my Mom is still single. She talked to a guy for a bit, but nothing serious. She has lots of men hitting on her, but she has no interest. Now if Mom had passed leaving Dad alone, I'm not sure he would have made it a month without getting another woman. Dad always had to have female attention. He cheated on Mom a couple times in the past even. So when I said some Boomers had to have a woman, my Dad was included in that. He could cook and take care of himself, he just had to have female attention.

I just spent $961.55 tuning up my 2005 Jaguar V6 S-Type. Now she purrs like the cat she is. I'd rather spend money on something that will run well and be worth my time.

I had to look one up, and damn that is a sweet ride! My money now is going to whatever my son wants and needs, guns, and my Hot Wheels collection. I collected Hot Wheels off and on all my life. Once my son got old enough to join in, collecting Hot Wheels is something we spend time together doing.

Well, I haven't the time, nor the inclination, to fool around trying to please some broad. I also have a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 L. (The L stands for long wheelbase). It has a Topaz exterior and cream interior. There were only 205 made that year. The ride's rear doors are almost 5 inches longer than the front doors. The 4.0 Liter I 6 is silky-smooth on the highway. This was the last year of both the XJ6 and the XJ12 (the I6 and V12 engines in the X300 body). After that, they want to the 4.0 liter V8, then the 4.2 Liter V8.



These are magnificent automobiles.

Do you drive these beauties a lot, or are they more for the Saturday cruising when the weather is nice?

I drive them when I can afford it. The S-Type is the most frugal to use. I have achieved 29.5 miles to the gallon of 91 octane premium fuel between Oregon and Tijuana, Baja California Norte, MX. It is a lot like driving a BMW 530i, but much more luxurious. (Cruise control is your friend).

The XJ6 L was the preferred vehicle for the Queen of England. The longer wheelbase provides a "limousine" type ride. (The BMW 740iL is/was its Teutonic rival). For long distances, the XJ6 L is really special.

I paid $8000.00 cash for my S-Type and $5500.00 for the XJ6 L. They're better than the BMW machines because they're,

1. More comfortable than the "Herman the German" cars, and,
2. They have an equal, or better, reputation for reliability. (1989 and later).

They just require careful (read: routine) maintenance. Regular maintenance and care yields great rewards. Believe me when I tell you that Jaguar builds great cars. Great cars require good care, nothing more.

I just bought 6 Champion Copper Core Spark Plugs for my XJ6 L. I'll be installing them myself tomorrow morning. (I'll have it completed in about an hour). Once that's accomplished The 'big cat" will go back to obtaining about 23 miles to the gallon (of premium fuel) on the highway (18 in the city). I spent a little more than $25.00 (USD) for the plugs. This is the cheapest "tune up" I can perform with the best return for the dollar.

It is SO cool!

p.s. I took the S-Type on a short 1 mile freeway sprint. Before I knew it, I has reached 110 mph in "two shakes of a lamb's tail".

Man, that little 3 Liter V6 is quick!

I only have one thing to say about Chumpion sputter plugs:

The last set of spark plugs you'll need for the life of the automobile!

P.S. Copper is 1930's technology, when all cars and trucks had fenders and bias ply.

The plugs I bought were recommended my a Jaguar mechanic. They should last a good 20,000 miles before replacement. (They were but $4.20 each (USD). This car was built in 1997. If the plugs need replacement in a year, it will be okay.
