    "too much" video games???

noticed the "10 signs you have been single too long" thread in the Lounge... http://www.goingyourownway.com/mgtow...e-single-2415/
and number 3 was "too many video games"..

well... whoever came up with that list apparently didn't do the assigned reading.. Right now, games are big biz.. in fact, they're the largest sector of the entertainment industry.. (and if the last century or so is any indicator... entertainment is relatively recession-proof.. I mean, look at the Great Depression of the 1930s.. economy was at a dead crawl, and yet radio and the movies actually flourished..)
turns out, a couple of my friends and me are working on a game... hope we get "a piece of the pie", heh....

whats your take on that, Programs....?

Back in oldn times, billiard halls were the IT place. You could gamble on games or play for money. It was also a place where homeless men could chat and stay warm. Always have a women to coach you through your idea's and observations. Don't let men gather!!!
    Only YOU can prevent expression.
P.S. The word " Too" is sexist.
Say " VERY" fat and obnoxious, instead of "Too"

The thread said "play too much video games" not "design video games". But good on you anyway making something you love productive.
It was stupid anyway. there is no such thing as single for too long if you are happy being single.

    Re: "too much" video games???

Shaming men for video games is so cliche and desperate now, it just makes my eyes glaze over. I mean seriously? They think it's more "noble" to be a voluntary slave for a random woman. Personally I wish I could play MORE games, as my attention span for gaming has gotten really short.

And their definition of "single too long" means absence of steady girlfriend, which is a very limited definition. They assume you can't have meaningful interaction unless you have an LTR. That's why askmen is such a joke, their advice might as well be written by women who think men are childish for enjoying anything without the presence of female overlords to monitor them.

I take it we all have the opening song from The Music Man playing in our heads... how a moral panic was whipped up...

nothing wrong with turning a hobby into a business, lots of ppl have done that in the past..

as for being "happy" being single.... well, I'm not sure about that... but from what I'm hearing here, maybe I'm "better off"..

And trying to shame a gamer into marriage isn't a confidence trick?

Oh, excuse me, Eiji - sometimes I'm slow to pick up on sarcasm.

And by the way, if you go back to the original libretto, Professor Harold Hill blew it by falling for Marian the Librarian, and the script-writer had to resort to a deus-ex-machina grade miracle to keep the star from being tarred and feathered and ridden out of River City on a rail.

Here's the movie version, from YouTube - not as highbrow, but more of an explanation:

I hear you Eiji. I downloaded Unreal Engine a few weeks ago, and have a few ideas for games I plan to get started working on in the next few months. I've been playing games since the N64 era, and I don't intend to stop anytime soon.

As others have said, that whole list was a load of crap. What's wrong with a grown man owning a cat? Nothing. A man has a right to have whatever type of pet he wants, as long as he can properly take care of it. Just another attempt to shame men into following along with what society deems as "normal".

It's only "too much" when your health starts to suffer or you start prioritizing it over important shit (getting an education, perfecting your craft whatever it may be, etc.). If not, you good. Askmen lists are doo-doo, being single/not committing to one woman rocks!

Too much is when it becomes number 1 priority ... like anything you enjoy, moderation is key. I just got Witcher 1&2 on steam sale for just 4 Euros ... pretty neat, pretty cheap . If you're very good at gaming, you might even consider a "career" as a "pro-gamer". The last winner team in dota 2 got over 5 million dollars (so 1 million each).

It would be cool if a MGTOW team took home the the video game gold.
Who are these MGTOW and why are they making women more accountable/ wet?

Wouldn't count on it ... might be worth some research though, but I'm too lazy. My bet is the winning team now has a bunch of golddigging whores sucking them dry. They're Chinese and this country has an appalling amount of this type of woman.

But there definitely is such a thing as not being single long enough. You need to be single for at least as long as testosterone is clouding your judgment. I am working hard at the moment to deprogram a young man and get him to realize that he has not been single long enough.

My understanding was that askmen was written by women. I never considered that it might not be. And, as we all know, all women believe that men are childish and need a woman to supervise them into being productive (i.e. properly serving the FI.)

You forget about that female blogger that went on a first date from POF or OKCupid just so she could write about it. Of course it was so she could make fun of the beta nerd. She especially castigated him for winning over $250,000 playing Magic: The Gathering. She called down the furies on herself by insulting a fairly large online group of players.

So, even if you make money doing it, women will find a way to use it as a basis to reject you. By rejecting males they elevate themselves. Yes, they are that evil.

    Re: "too much" video games???

Hey, Nasir, for a few years I and other guys with red pill awareness have joked about how AskMen is a mangina, blue pill, "how do I WIN Miss Cupcake?" sort of publication. These also are transparent pseudo men spaces. Just like the Good Mangina Project (ooops, it's actually called the Good Man Project.) Some of these places actually are as blue pill as can be. With women writing their "what a MAN should read" book list, for example.

I am one of the rare guys who has not had any interest in video games since way back in the 1980s (except for Madden Football or NHL hockey during the early 1990s on the Sega PlayStation. Anyway, despite that, lots of my friends DID have interest in video games.

I see this as another shaming tactic at male activities. This has been done in the form of "don't let your man watch too much sports." At the end of the day, women are basically status chasing WHORES! So if rich beta boy has an interest in video games, I can just see her pulling a chameleon and faking the same interest. I had woman totally fake being into bands they weren't like Rush, Carcass, or Cannibal Corpse--in my 20s a few decades ago when I was a local musician.

Women LOVE to watch men they've disqualified drool over them. I've had some ex-girlfriends pull this shit on me. Sure, they'll throw some sex my way and feign temporarily worshiping me and all. But I learned the hard way, they were just knowingly leading me on. I finally got wise to it and went No Contact.

I've had those women in our 2.0 version of dating years--that meaning 5 or so years we were in an exclusive relationship for a second time--later transparently throw me from the pedestal into the ditch! Anyway, I don't give ANY of those woman who do not at least try to make it look as if they are trying to impress me--who used to worship me--treat me like they can take it or leave it. I just NEXT those broads. At worst, slowly but surely. It does not take too long for me to see that I am being treated like some second rate guy they take for granted. Into the trash they GO!

Because making decent cash doing something that you - god forbid - ACTUALLY LIKE is so omega right? Unbelievable ...
