Thread: So what does a good MGTOW life look like?

Well, the last months were a chore (as every year) and I did not have much time for anything other than being a vegetable on my couch when at home.

Anyway, 2015 is over and the first months of 2016 leave me with some time to do what I want to do.


At least my christmas present was all I wanted as I finally decided to make another one of my childhood dreams a reality.

And this is the first step towards it:


Bachmann Oregon Lumber 55-ton Shay in 1:20,3

Of course I already have planned the layout of my dreams ...



It is of course a "total coincidence" that I have a spare room left that is unused ---yet.

I like the Hummingator.

If some Mom or Dad hates their toddler, for example, they can scare the hell out of it saying that the Hummingator will possibly show up after bedtime to punish bad kids. Otherwise, sort of and sort of not representative of the everglades. But ultimately, quick death to ALL trolls!

I changed MY avatar, not because I am ashamed of the Redskins. But the season is over and it's time to move on to the next DC area team that I like. They were picked to finish 30-32 out of 32 NFL teams. Instead they made the playoffs finishing in the top third. They're ahead of schedule.

Lucky Austrian, that locomotive looks impressive. I don't quite get the "1:20,3" reference, though; I'm used to thinking of model trains in terms of the "O" (32mm) and "HO" (half-O) track gauges of my youth. O-gauge track is close to 1/45 the width of standard-gauge railroad track (1435 mm, or 4' 8½" in American measure). How does this compare with your locomotive?

a good mgtow life means taking care of myself. a good mgtow life means not thinking that getting married and signing a contract for 18+ years of my life will improve my position in the world. a good mgtow life means you can improve yourself without relying on a false reward system like a marriage contract. rather than getting married, and then realizing your burden or 'responsibility' to avoid punishment, a good mgtow life is taking care of yourself.

It is "F-Scale", to be exact it is "Fn3" which means the original ran on the "narrow" 3ft gauge.

The most common track for garden railroads is 45mm Gauge (mostly called "G-Scale" or "Garden-Scale" and the trains and locos are in a range from 1:22,5 to 1:32 scale depending on the gauge of the original.

If built in 1:22,5 the track would be to wide in relation to the locomotives that ran on 3ft track. With the factor 1:20,3 45mm track pretty exactly fits the 3ft of the original.

The tiny trains in the background are Z-Scale, which means standard-gauge in 1:220

What does a good near-MGTOW life look like? 16 track days scheduled for 2016, can't wait to get myself back out on the asphalt destroying poor unsuspecting tires and brake pads!

Well, 2016 was "busy" and I did not have time for lengthy posts.

Now it is time to look back and say in conclusion: a good year

Had enough dough left to buy a little forklift in excellent condition as helper for the homestead.


Built some additional raised beds .. now as mobile versions from some cargo boxes left over


Feel like a professional rider uphill on my new and impressively powerful E-Bike


Added new bark mulch to my garden


After visiting a model fair I had to get my hands on one of those sweet 3D printers


Got an offer I could not really refuse as the benefits for me are kinda worth it


Designed my first little thing to be printed in 3D as a test for "bigger things" to come



The first prints came out kinda OK


And after assembly and some point I was satisfied with the result, after all, my first build.
Fits perfectly to my little birthday present.



Stumbled over an used cargo van in excellent condition and few miles on it so I could replace my old one.


Else I took a short vacation in the alps


Got a private tour trough a zoo, getting close to the animals, pretty impressive


Refurbished my little home office / electronic workshop. The "starter" loco got some sisters too ...



While I was working my 3D Printer was working on the next and bigger project I will start assembling now


Else, I bought stuff without discussions, went places without haggling about where and when, worked a lot without somebody nagging at home and treated myself well.

Tell me more about the E-bike. How does it work? How does it recharge? What is the range/duration of the charge? Does pedaling recharge the battery?

The basic function is pretty simple. A little motor helps you push the pedals depending on how hard you step on the pedals and how much assistance you told the computer you want.

In lower settings you basically just have a helper uphill, on high settings it is more like a little Enduro off-roader, pushing you forwards with every revolution.

Basically even lard asses like me can feel like a pro with a little assist uphill .. or not break a sweat when just pedaling for a little grocery shopping.

Recharge is ap. 4 hours at any standard outlet, Range is (depending on assistance) between 40 and 130 kilometres, pedaling does not recharge nor does braking (regenerative braking like in cars) but I am pretty sure these things will be available in e-bikes in a few years.

What do those E-bikes sell for? What is the life of the battery?

Ap. 2500-3000€ for a good e-bike. Battery life is ap. 5 years but the battery is plug and play.
