    I am the co-founder of a company that helps clients find ways to diversify their work force. We recently set up an interview at a major company for a senior African-American woman software engineer. After meeting with the hiring panel, she withdrew her application, telling us she felt demeaned by the all-white male group that failed to ask her any questions about her coding skills. She described how one of the men had made it clear to her that she wasn’t a cultural fit and that therefore they didn’t need to proceed with technical questions.
    I hear stories like this regularly, as I work with companies in Silicon Valley and beyond who want to bring more women onto their tech teams. Higher-ups declare their intention to hire more women. But the actual hiring is still all too rare.
    There’s a continuing debate about the reasons for the lack of diversity in the tech sector, including candidate pools that are mostly male, and stubborn, superficial notions of what it means to be a “cultural fit” for an organization — the template for which is often based on young white men . . . "
    Comment: Young white men … when is somebody going to finally do something about them? Does anybody actually believe the conventional wisdom about how Silicon Valley firms are leaving money on the table by not hiring as many women engineers as men engineers enough to put their money where their mouths are?
    Simple logic suggests that if the rest of America is badly underestimating the value of women engineers, then you could make a fortune by hiring women. Yet, in the real world, the companies that get ultra-rich, like Google and Apple, while they may parrot feminist talking points, behave as if they believe everything James Damore pointed out.

    Candidates rightfully want assurances about whether the companies have improved — or whether they even care. Treating everyone the same won’t accomplish that.
    Yeah, special treatment for females because... reasons!

    It is articles like this that just piss me off. So she is a woman and so she is black, BIG FUCKING DEAL GET OVER YOURSELF BITCH. Anyone that runs a successful business will hire someone based on what they can fucking do and not because of gender or race or any other bullshit. I also get tired of being told that I'm a racist or that my family owned slaves because I am white. Well let's get this shit straight right now, I am half Swedish and half Irish. My grandfather became a U.S. citizen in the very early 1900's and got that citizenship after fighting for the U.S. in WWI. Yes that is right my Swedish grandfather had to fight in a world war to get his U.S. citizenship. My mother which I recently found out was mostly Irish. I also learned through history that the Irish were also slaves in the early days of the United States.

    So yes I am white, however that does not make me a racist and that does not mean my family were slave owners. In fact some of my family were probably slaves themselves. I don't say this because I expect a pat on the back or some other bullshit. I say this to simply show how fucking ignorant some people are and how they use racism to divide people. The fact that this women would not work with "white men" just goes to show how brainwashed and uncivilized this woman really is. I have hired and fired people before and in either case it always came down to the same question. What are you able to do for my company? Hey if you have a good driving record and can work a 14hr. day then your hired. If you can't hack it then your no longer employed by me, it's that simple. So this race and gender shit is nothing but shit. As soon as people stop blaming others and take care of themselves instead of feeling entitled to a handout, then we will all do much better.

    Most people don't have the ability to be very choosy as to why they were offered a job. There's not one applicant in a hundred who can afford to pass on a reasonable gig cause the company asked the wrong questions. That's how it was down where I operated, and I doubt the high priced spread has it much better.

    When computers first hit the workplace, Smokey Bears finest considered them women's work, being office stuff and all. But that changed fast and soon there was no shortage of guys using the box to evade as much other work as they could. Now the sex's are about equal when it comes to using the computer to screw off.


    They started with local tech support, each office having their own. One morning there was a snowball fight going on when computer support walked up. Seeing a guy looking at her, she goes "hit me with that snowball and you'll never log on again!" He wisely threw it at someone else.

    Of course computer service was centralized long ago. When you call Smokey's help desk, or the no help desk as it is sometimes known, you might get a man or a woman. Most a my problems were simple, and usually fixed quickly by whatever sex was working that morning.

    I work at a bank. In this pretty much separate subsidiary of a large bank we don't do retail. And where I work is all back office, no customer facing. I noted that all the new Admin entry level hires were women, they do the paper shuffling. The exception was one fat Asian gay male. I found out the interview process involved the "team" interviewing the candidate, and then all voting to allow them in, or not. This is typical women based high school social circle BS. How do women aggress? Social exclusion. So, I went to one of these teams and asked them why they were only hiring women. They all said, "we have male candidates, but none of them will fit in our culture." Note that these teams were 100% female, except the gay guy. What pissed me off was the little smiles they all had on their faces when they fed me the "fit in our culture" line. They were as much as stating that they were lying through their teeth, and knew damn well that they were just never going to hire a male. This is the way women work. The get in a male space, demand changes so they are comfortable, petition to have more women brought in, then, when they reach a critical mass, they take over the hiring process and discriminate to exclude men. The end result is a totally female work space with just a few token males. An example is K-12 teaching. In 2011–12, some 76 percent of public school teachers were female, and it is getting to be a more female dominated field every year. And it is all totally legal since you can discriminate against everyone who is not a protected class, as defined in the civil rights act. Do you know who the people are that are not in a protected class? White, native born American, straight, Christian, men. I forgot, and under 40, but try proving age discrimination. That is the totality of non-protected people. You might say, OK let them have their little hen corner. However, the policy is to hire from within first and go outside only if no internal candidates are qualified. So, if all the entry level people are female, this will eventually filter up the organization until there are no more places for men to work.

    It's a conflict model. The more they can keep us focused on race (or even gender) conflicts, the freer they are to keep us all down.

    Why does this co-founder whine on social media? Have she and that interviewee not heard of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission? They should bring their evidence to the EEOC. This reminds me of those false r*pe accusations where the woman won't go to the police because her story will fall apart under scrutiny so she takes it to social media instead, where her fake story is guaranteed a certain amount of traction.
