Article: There’s Nothing Feminist About Imperialism

I don't know if this goes in non-MGTOW sub-forum or in Opposing Views. There are some apparent facts of interest in the article that would be useful to know but a lot of it is feminist perspective and I certainly am not promoting that. It can be important to read what some of the other side are thinking, at least in the first section.

The article is three sections "against the feminist-washing of U.S. militarism." Below, I've selected quotes from the first section. They are saying it is no gain for women to replace men with women in a framework created by men. Ha, if they could only learn that lesson, like, in everything else. Feminist regret?

Women are now the CEOs of four out of the country’s five biggest military contractors, writes Politico reporter David Brown, noting that, “across the negotiating table, the Pentagon's top weapons buyer and the chief overseer of the nation's nuclear stockpile now join other women in some of the most influential national security posts.”

Yet, feminists should not view this “rise” of women as a win. Feminism, as the most recent wave of imperial-feminist articles shows, is increasingly being co-opted to promote and sell the U.S. military-industrial complex: a profoundly violent institution that will never bring liberation to women

Weapons contractors are working hard to sell a progressive, pro-women brand to the public. Raytheon and other firms spend millions on public relations painting themselves as noble empowerers of women and girls in the sciences.

Meanwhile, the war criminals of yesteryear are being rehabilitated by this “girl-power” coverage. Last April, The Washington Post ran a story with the eyebrow-raising headline, “‘The kids, they love Madeleine Albright’: How a veteran diplomat got turned into a girl-power icon.” In 1996, Albright, the then-U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, told “60 Minutes” that the half-million Iraqi children killed by the U.S. sanctions regime were “worth” it.

Well, at least some feminist writers have some principles.

What does Raytheon think they're going to do? Put MAGA hats on the Tomohawk missiles?

The things people write when they got to pay the rent. When the authors of this piece land in hell, I hope the devil sticks his pitchfork right up their poop chute. You could write shit for a week and still not match this pack a lies. A good jobs not enough for these two. It has to be in a squeaky clean industry THAT ONLY BENIFITS WOMEN? Really? Like protecting the country doesn't do that.

    That really sums it up.

These people are fucking unhappy no matter what. They are not mentally fit for equality, to be equal.

Hell of a town you live in, ain't it? Small wonder my favorite view of it's in my rear view mirror.

    Are you talking to me?

I don't get what you mean, sorry.

Seattle's a scary place on a bike. But being on the way to BC, I used to see more of it than I liked. So I kind of dread the place. That's all there is too it, I'm fine with you. Sorry if it looked otherwise.

Oh, you remembered where I live! I hadn't even thought of that. No, no, you're fine. I completely get it now. Tomorrow, local TV is showing an hour-long special called Seattle is Dying. It's about time someone identified the elephant in the room (er, city). Any clear-thinking individual can see that this town promotes drug use. The drug abuse is blatant and everywhere while officials and this population parades their virtue in terms of throwing more money at it and calling that compassion. Everybody is virtue-signaling all the way to the bank. The special is saying that ain't working and we need to follow the example of Rhode Island which apparently has a completely opposite approach to ours and is working. I won't know details until tomorrow, I guess.

I have found that the primary function of our city and county governments is to meet payroll of its members. That's it. Everything else that they do is just stuff they do between paydays. Their secondary function is to titillate the masses to get re-elected. A tertiary function is to grow government jobs.

And now our Mayor wants a 213 million levy to implement a system to not charge overdue library fees as it unfair to poor people who cannot return a book on time. A lot of money already uncollected anyway, she says. The astute among us ask why can't they just reverse the charges on these unpaid debts, why do the taxpayers have to get involved. Answer: see tertiary role above.
