Does Porn addiction affect girls as well?

    http://fightthenewdrug.org/sex-befor...ing-with-boys/

Do girls not get addicted to porn? And that addiction affects boys as well just as porn addiction in boys affect girls?

Re: Does Porn addiction affect girls as well?

Very female centered articles indeed. Really narrow minded stuff IMO.

There are two sides two the coin here. One is that these articles are exaggerating the issue. Let's be real here. These are girls varying from 15 to 24. These girls have all the choice they want. They can have sex with whoever they want, whenever they want and probably however they want. For example there is all this talk about how girls actually crave intimacy and affection, and that they only get dominant boys who give them a kiss for every blowjob they give. This is bogus.

The other side of the coin is that porn off course does influence the sexual marketplace quite a bit. Guys can get off of porn, girls aren't the only ones who can give them orgasms, porn can do it to. In that sense, girls are in very real competition with porn stars. Real girls must be more sexually fulfilling than porn, so naturally guys will become more demanding. Guys simply have higher standards for sexual fulfilment now.

My inner child says ha ha ha to society for bringing this upon themselves. Who didn't see this coming, with an open internet? Everybody watched it unfold, no one in charge, while the anarchists always laugh at the canaries coughing in the coal mines, ridiculing them as alarmists.

Inner Child has been put to bed now, so the adults can talk. To the extent that that article describes real-life interactions, this is terrible! I'm so glad the internet did not exist when I was a minor! That the article leans towards girls' problems, I don't have to miss their point because of it.

Here is a case where more than one plan of remedy can be made. For the girls who are texted by boys asking for nude pics, a start is to teach the girls to stop not knowing what to do, but to recognize what's wrong with the request and don't respond to him, block the sender, whatever the options are for this texting device (I don't text), including stop friending every motherfucker on the planet who asks! I'd have to learn more about texting to understand its appeal as the time-waster it seems to be. Seems to be a fiendish solution to something missing in the hearts of people.

(What's with this friend thing? Online culture has totally trashed the integrity of that word. Society needs to walk that one back, pronto. Reintroduce the fact that there are friends and there are acquaintances, and the difference between the two, and the prudence of enforcing the difference in our daily lives. Also, there is the thing of people acting friendly which is not anywhere the same as being a friend. The English language is fucked up in this regard. Sometimes, people I've newly met say to me after a fun conversation, "We are friends, right?" and I may reply, "Well, we are friend-LEE, and that's a good start!" I'm being prudent and wise. Do I have to start my own crusade on this point? LOL.

But, I digress. Or do I?)

Point is, teach the minor girls what to do to stop this bullshit on their phones and what to say and do moving forward when stuff is said to them in their presence, and don't let anyone take such advice and twist it into saying why should it just be the girls who have to act which only paralyzes things.

I'd have advice for the boys' parents but I'd need to read articles bent towards the boys' side, to grease the wheels of my thinking on that.

Do I sound like the fucking Reader's Digest with my conservatism? LOL. Well, I really am conservative on many things, but I call it being sensible. If I make it sound so naively easy, its not. Ya just gotta get mad to make real change, and let people see that you're mad.

P.S. That red T-shirt they have for sale is so lame! Be a lover, it says. Oh, pleeeze! Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! Don't blend lover with porn in your T-shirt message, you idiots! For crying out loud, can't anyone ever do better than this?

Re: Does Porn addiction affect girls as well?

(I know this is gonna be ranty and a bit off-topic, but I do think this is a point that needs to be made)

I am a pretty young man, neighbouring the millenials. Back when I was a boy in the early 2000s, my parents gave me their computer, since they had bought it amid the technological frenzy of the times but didn't really know how to use it. This way, I have owned a personal computer from a very tender age.

I commited many, many mistakes. The mistakes a child left unchecked can and will commit on the internet. Among the worst offenses, I got trolled into checking out necrophiliac porn. Why do I bring this all up? Because I want you to see that despite roaming free through the internet in my childhood, I grew up to be mentally sound.

Pornography, violence, everything is one click away from your boy's eyes. Kids addicted to porn at 15, has the world gone insane!? No, the world has failed to adapt to the huge gap the internet has created between generations. Your kid will have access to this content, that's a fact of life, so better make your peace with it.

Sex, gore, why is it all enticing to the young mind? Because it is out of boundaries. You don't speak of that, you can't watch that, adults only. Do you think those kids got into porn with the idea of jacking off? No, they went in there to see what all the fuss was about.

It's out there, everywhere, so I think it's about time we tear down the taboos. When your kid gets interested in sex for the first time don't shoot him down. He's not "too young" anymore. Sit down with him and make him understand sex is something mundane, not a big deal. When he wants to watch "Saw", "The Human Centipede" or whichever movie is making the rounds, sit down and watch it with him. It's not about teaching anything, it's just about showing him that fake sex, fake violence, that's the air we breathe nowadays, and it's pretty mediocre.

The younger generations are maturing earlier, and that doesn't mean they get to have sex or watch adult movies. It means that, if properly guided, they will be able to reflect, to handle heavy topics and behave like an adult much earlier as well. If we dismiss them and leave them to their own devices, then they will have to self-educate and explore by themselves, with all the misconceptions and troubles it ends up creating.

Is innocence dying out? I get to interact with high schoolers on a regular basis and holy shit man, those little bastards make my young self pale in comparison. Maybe we should stop worrying about if porn sends dangerous messages, and start teaching to our kids the critical thinking they need to tell by themselves.

And the fact that women are starting to feel like they're "competing with porn" is a huge indicator of how shitty their attitudes actually are. I think it's really not that difficult to be more compelling than porn...just be in shape and not a bitch...it's not like men are saying "fuck this we're only banging perfect 10s or NOBODY". No, we're tired of the social media narcissism, legal traps, rampant hypergamy, etc etc. It's not difficult to be more interesting than porn, women are just failing completely at it. Also I have to LOL at this guy's comment on the NPR article:

My wife is convinced women don't actually enjoy sex but either use it to maintain a relationship or get what they want. She was taught this, feels it about herself, and says that's what her friends believe, as well. It's been a tough row to hoe for us...Yes, we've been seeing counselors and a psychologist.
    And this wacky comment:
Oh, Lord. I get so tired of the sl. ut/prude messages in society today. I'm a woman. I LOVE s*x, sometimes alone with my toys, sometimes with my husband, and I've decided at the ripe age of 50 to stop apologizing for it. I have taught my daughter all about her clitoris and hope that she practices enough in the privacy of her room now to be able to tell her partner someday how to touch her for her pleasure. There is nothing sacred about virginity. I hope her first time is pleasant, and I hope I've equipped her with enough self-knowledge to take care of herself, but if the first time sucks, then there's many opportunities to try again.

Abso-fuckin'-lutely! All a "Real Live Girl" would need to do is be real, be sweet, smile and snuggle close -- even the way the Lawrence Welk Show portrayed it in 1968 ....

Okay, this music is probably foreign and even laughable to the Gen-X'ers and Millennials on this site. But my first delightful experience of the pleasures of "a real live girl" consisted of dancing up close, like that, arm-in-arm and just short of cheek-to-cheek. And so it was, not only for the Baby Boomers (like me) but for the "Greatest Generation," as Tom Brokaw described the Boomers' parents.

But seriously, folks, dancing cheek-to-cheek with a snuggly, proportionately-figured "Real Live Girl" is delightful. If she feels good enough in your arms -- a declaration that works both ways, as in your feelings and her feelings as you swing and sway across the dance floor -- that was the start of many a romance, leading to many a proposal and many a marriage ... and many a family; if not the union of your parents, then very likely the union of your grandparents. It's not for nothing that the Southern Baptists are dead set against cheek-to-cheek dancing ... just as it was "not for nothing" that the Mormons, even in the early Seventies when my closest childhood friend embraced that faith and brought me out to their Saturday-night revels, embraced "dances" as a way to get boys and girls to pair themselves up.

(I'm still fond of the memories ... and I can almost feel those Mormon girls in my arms, though it was more than forty years ago.)

Porn reduces a womans sexual market value.

It can also negatively impact on some womens ways of orgasm and getting wet in some cases, but generally porn issues are seen with males as most of womens porn is read in novels which rather than biologically effecting them it effects males as they generate these conflicting standards for men between romantic novels and what feminism dictates to them

Let "real live girls" compete with porn. If porn gives men what they need then so be it. Just like virtual reality and android sex "companions" porn is the latest step in independence from the tyranny of women using sex to control us.

Note to ourselves: I don't see a dearth of women who are willing to participate in porn.

Honestly, I like porn because the sex is honest. Or as honest as a staged show can get. Ironic really, that a man can't trust what is one of the most honest physical acts one can do.

I wonder why there's so much noise about actual porn... but nothing regarding romance novels.....
I've heard a number of people (including some women) call them "women's porn".... (and there's no age limit on who can buy them..... personally, I'd like to impose a minimum age of 16 for books like those...)

The same addiction men get from porn, hits women on social media except that once we blow our load a temporary reset comes for us while women are "edging" 24/7.

In 1964 they made a movie called; "it's a mad mad mad world", the remake of that movie in 2019 should be called; "it's a sick sick sick world", it's the reason I don't interact with most of society, this sickness is viral and contagious! I don't want to become a sick puppy by seeing things that can't be unseen!

Re: Does Porn addiction affect girls as well?

Men's porn indulges a man's fantasy of a young, attractive woman willingly provides him with sex for very little effort.

Example: pizza delivery man rings the doorbell and the person that opens the door is nymphomaniac lingerie model....whose equally aroused sister is in route with a digital camera and a jar of coconut oil.

Women's porn indulges a woman's fantasy that a rich, attractive, high status man will provide her with love - and resources! - for absolutely no effort.

Example: Dumpy, unemployed, high school drop-out single mom living in trailer park has a fender bender with a man who drives a Mercedes. The former pro-athlete, former fashion model, turned plastic surgeon to the stars, comes out of the car, falls instantly in love, and she helps him get elected to the senate.

However, the reaction of the audience is completely different based on gender.
A man will watch porn directed to him and realize that it is a mere fantasy.
A woman will watch porn directed to her and wonder why reality does not confirm to her fantasy.

There's nothing wrong with fantasies, as long as you remember that they are just that, not reality.

Pizza delivery boy watches porn, realizes the three way with nymphomaniac lingerie and centerfold models is merely a fantasy, redoubles his efforts to become an architect, or a fireman, or a successful business owner.

Chubby Walmart shopping, trailer park dwelling, single mom watches "commitment porn" (romantic comedies, Lifetime TV shows, or "50 Shades",) realizes that doctors, astronauts, CEOs, professional athletes are not returning her calls, supports "fat acceptance" movement and gets a "beautiful at any weight" tattoo. When she despairs of getting high resource male to subsidize her existence, she supports politicians who will 'redistribute the wealth' away from the kind of man, the kind of man that will not give her the time of day.

Or, to put it another way:

Pizza delivery boy watches porn, realizes that in order to live out his fantasy, he will have to improve himself.

Woman watches porn, realizes that in order to live out her fantasy, she will have to improve herself.....but that requires work and sacrifice, so she decides to "improve" society.
