Christian Science Monitor talks about single women

Singles nation: Why so many Americans are unmarried

    http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Society...ors_picks=true

after talking about single women, then single mothers, it brings the conclusion: if being single is so popular, why are people still getting married? because happy married people are more happy than single people.

the whole artcicle, the entire article, never interviews a guy. it mainly talks about partners and ex-husbands of single women and single mothers.

I read only part of it. My reaction was: "Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...." It was almost as bad as suffering through an episode of Sex and the City.

Wow. It's a tough read when an article wanders around as much as that one does.

Well, there's Hugh Ryan in there. And Andrew Cherlin.

But yeah, it's out of proportion.

Ms. Arias does not believe being single is fabulous and exciting. For her, it’s just really, really hard.
Poor Ms Arias! I wonder why life is such a struggle?

Arias, who lives in Durham, N.C., is 29 years old and has two young children.
    Yeah, that's probably it.

She and their father were never married…
So the children are bastards. Come on - say the word, it' ain't that hard.

Although the father, who is in the country illegally, …
And just like that, any sympathy I might have had evaporates. Don't these people ever blame their woes on their own shitty life choices? Hah! Of course not. That would make sense.

She moved in with her dad. While she recently started work at Head Start, which her children have attended, money is still tight.
So at the end of the day, she's living off a man anyway. And doing a government job in an agency whose main goal is to move assets from taxpaying men to women just like herself. Nice.

    It is a typical story.
    No shit, Sherlock.

etc, etc. More "Baaaawwww!" that you can shake a stick at.

no evidence of a "control" group..... so that sounds rather "wondrously arrogant"... and what about those who are unhappily married? (I'm sure they're more common than these types let on....)
