    How to spot a troll

Hey guys I'm still new here and starting this thread might make some people wonder if I'm the troll. But hear me out...

U guys know how to spot a troll better than I...
Im still a rookie but I'm suspecting an undercover double agent amonst us. I dont like it.

I guess what im trying to do is set up some kind of standard for picking trolls and banning them. Like a legal system. Suspect, trial, evidence, verdict, sentence if found guilty.

For example I'd suggest that "MGTOW simply means we reject living with women and anything beyond it like marriage or babies."
Nothing more I think. It's only one rule

So should a guy who lives with his lover be even allowed to speak in this forum?

So aside from the definition of MGTOW what are some red flags that we can point to and say fuck off???

I hate the thought of these fake people. We talk about personal stuff. They need to be kicked out.

On the other hand I want to welcome new comers without being hostile and treating them like trolls. We need to still show empathy to real men who have just escaped the plantation. It's the toughest stage

Re: How to spot a troll

You can always post in response to a post that raises questions in your mind. Asking for clarification or refuting some "let's return to the plantation and all will be wonderful" stimulates a discussion. If the trolls become obvious, hopefully the mods will evict them. Raise specific questions in the threads or posts that concern you, is what I suggesting, that way we can all see what you are concerned about. Hope that helps.

Re: How to spot a troll

I understand where you are coming from. From what I have learned on this site and others is that trolls play such a short-game that they are quickly discovered. That does not mean immediate action though. I prefer to give them more and more rope. Usually, they make the noose and jump in a histrionic rage because they are not getting the attention they want. Given enough time and indifference, trolls are usually a self-correcting problem.

There's things you can look for. But there ain't no system, and the only guys who are never wrong are those who stay out of it.

But most of the time it works. Some of us get took at first, but it's not easy to fool everybody. Watching them react when called out can tell you a lot too. Another habit to look for is unreasonable stubbornness. "Why do I got to do that? It's not right."

Our latest troll has got away with more than anyone I can remember, but I don't think his bullshits going to get him much further.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.

The best way in dealing with trolls is ignoring them, but we all know we love pointing out the flaws in their stories and burn them to the ground. It can be tough sometimes.

I remember when I first joined , I was kind of treated hostile. Trolls never last long. Remember that. They eventually expose themselves or end up banned. Another thing is that if someone posts something you don't like then they must a be a troll. I stay out of stupid forum wars.

I respectfully disagree with the merits of ignoring trolls. The reason for my disagreement is that the "ignore them and they will go away" strategy only works for amateur trolls, that is trolls who are there for the attention. A counter troll strategy based upon ignoring the trolls fails miserably against agenda driven trolls. They aren't there for the attention, they are seeking to fufill an agenda, whether by harassing and driving off the forum members who post quality content, by forum sliding, starting flame wars, ect.

Re: How to spot a troll

Sometimes we have obvious females and hardcore blue pill guys try to fool us, other times they may just be purple pill type guys or sincere blue pill guys trying to choke down the red one that we misjudge. It's kind of hard to tell at first.

A couple recently may have just been on the spectrum a little, but I do agree about insisting on a detailed into for new members. That's the one thing the trolls will try to skimp on.

The detailed intro does seem to be a good screening method, agreed.

indeed. You can only give so much leeway, eventually trolls make the atmosphere unpalatable enough that members who have been here for years and contributed their views will become demotivated to engage and share their insights.

I suspect there is definitely more than one or two trolls in this forum already. They usually show their colours by inserting at least one or two back-handed insults in their posts.

Can a guy without driver`s license be a car mechanic ?

Life is way more thrilling than any Hollywood movie . Things happen beyond anyones imagination .

Women is just a rookie stage of MGTOW . After that you have to figure out how to live Your life .

Like Mikediver had to choose to Smith & Wesson himself now or live a little bit longer and suffocate .

To swear off women is the easiest thing in the world when you think about it because they are not looking at you anyways .

But there are things you cant swear off ... and thats the question .
You cant keep a player down!
Dont hate him , hate your fuking bullshit game !

Re: How to spot a troll

What makes MWC a troll is that he's not here to promote and support MGTOW, but to promote certain religious ideas. It's fairly obvious, and I don't think I need to go through his posts pulling out quotes to demonstrate. He ought to take it to /r/modernmonk, or /r/modernhermit . I'm not banning him myself, at the moment (I never did find the perma-ban button), but I can't speak for other mods or the admin.

The relevant section in the principles is:
    Appreciate if you wouldn't:

    • Disparage religious/ideological views of others, nationalities, etc. While we respect differences of opinion and encourage open discussion, please don't make it a point of peddling ideology, religions, etc.
In the meantime, he's stirring up some dicussion, which is fun. Please keep replies to him civil and within the bounds of the rules. "Robust" is fine, IMO.

When he is banned, which will most certainly happen and sooner rather than later unless I miss my guess, I think it would be reasonable to move his threads to "Opposing Views".

If my post is TL;DR, just read the red stuff.

I completely get this. The Intro is a great and strong way to screen out trolls. For some reason, fakers cannot write a good Intro. They can fake an Intro or try to bluster their way around one, but they can't write a good one. When fakers are women, they just don't have the male life experience to write a believable Intro and they get found out at this stage. As well, a faker resists being candid and honest. Someone who just escaped the plantation is bursting with things to say and, having found MGTOW, now has people to say it to, and we can see this in their Intro.

So, the Intro works really well if allowed to do its job. My take is to not engage any member in conversation until we have vetted his Intro. I won't even talk to a guy without a valid Intro, I'll keep referring him to make one while not answering his questions. When he makes a valid Intro, he's in. He's in. A few here are less, uh, militant than me and will respond to his initial post while also telling him to make an Intro. One wonders if that works. Yet others will respond to a guy's initial post and say nothing to his lack of Intro, bestowing full peer treatment no questions asked. Enough members here are too easy to induce into conversation and it's that third group that will give lurker trolls the most hope. It's a weak spot. I'll be frank here when I say that I see members who joined only in the last six months are easy marks for getting sucked into a protracted conversation by someone who has not even done an Intro. To those members, you're too easy! LOL

Anyway, when you sense you could be reading a troll, you very well could be. Immediately, look to the left at their avatar and see how many posts they have made and when they joined. If his number of posts is "1" then that is the very post you are reading and an alarm should go off that the screening Intro is needed. If not "1" but a low number, go to Member Intros and look up his month/year of joining to see if he ever wrote an Intro and, if so, did we ever notice it or vet it or did we each do nothing, figuring someone else here will say something? If you see a substandard Intro from him, say something in his Intro which will cause it to float to the top of the Latest Posts to show others. Shine a light. Not an Interrogation Room lamp, no need to be harsh but just get the thing back on track.

Those times you see any of us jump a newbie's shit and it's looks kinda harsh to you, well we are all individuals, aren't we. I often wonder what newbie would join a site without having first lurked enough to assess the general temperament and if this is the site he wants to join. With these uncontrollables going on, that's why I think it is best to quickly shovel new guys right to the New Member Intros and let our directness in doing that be the only abrupt treatment we provide.

Even your most cranky MGTOW is able to harness his obstreperousness and write his story. So when a newbie informs us that he is a private guy and he's not going to get into details, remind him he is using an anonymous username for crying out loud and no one can look through his computer to see him!

There are such things as partnered MGTOW. Betrothed men who then took the red pill and are now trapped in marriages. Their Intro should say as much. I think we may have some right now.

If you are reading newbie posts that ask questions to assess a man's desire, such as the recent question, "Do you guys like one piece bathing suits or bikinis?", that ought to make you wonder why he needs to gauge what turns you on. A woman, on the other hand, would exactly love to hear that stuff.

Mods evict, but it is up to all of us to use discernment.

This undercover double-agent, have you read his Intro? Does it address the points in the How to Intro sticky? Is his Intro lame and no one ever challenged it? I believe that any action you might take on your perceptions here about his veracity should take his Intro into consideration. If it is substandard, you could address that to him in your approach.

Re: How to spot a troll

I read the principles of this forum. But I can't see anything about how the banning of people is applied. So i dunno

All I know is that Ive quietly watched this MWC spin his ideologic web, thread after thread his shaming us, insulting us.
And if u look I didn't respond once to any of his bullshit threads.

But in the latest thread of MWC I was triggered, as they say these days, after reading the 2nd of his MGTOW commandments.

Do we allow Blue pill soy boys to try shame us back to the plantation on this forum? In my opinion we shouldn't

Another random newbie was asking for advice with his girlfriend. Like wtf. If his living with a bitch should he even be here? In my opinion i don't think so

I don't like seeing poison being spread in here guys. Some of us have different religious view, races, nationalities but none of it matters cos we agree on one thing...

MGTOW "We don't live with women we fuck". I think is the simplest term that leaves MGTOW open for men with various nuances

I don't want to see it hyjacked, mainstreamed or watered down. I know I'm a rookie and its just my opinion. The intro is a must.
And after that I will always be hospitable especially to guys that are just being enlightened and are confused. We all know how bad that stage is.

But if a person is pushing us to go back to the plantation. Its not good. I know Im never going back but I don't even want anyone to think of such a thing.

How are these decisions made around here anyway? How can there be no system?
MWC has already dissapeared once. I noticed. He was taken away by the KGB to the east, far beyond the Urals to an unknown Siberian gulag.
Then he just reappeared again. Did he escape the gulag? What happened? Who is running our gulags any way? Alik? LoL

MGTOW is getting targeted now guys. We need a polit bureau to decide if and when new comers go to the gulag and for how long.
I believe in being firm but fair. Like the Gestapo

Re: How to spot a troll

Don't get my wrong Pork. I hate trolls as much as anybody, and your not the first member to get possessive when some asshole figures they'll have their fun on Jags dime. Mr. Chains is just the latest.

But in the overall scheme of things, all he did was stink the place up for a week. A month from now Mr. Chains name will probably have a line through it, and you'll still be here. You did make one mistake though. Stay within the principles, and don't go crazy till your sure. But when you know you got a troll, give them the warm welcome they deserve. The forum don't always like it, but you can get pretty nasty and still stay within the principles. Do that, and you can bash all the trolls you like. Pork, your missing out, taunting trolls is great fun long as you don't get carried away.

If you suspect a troll, but aren't sure, give e'm some line and wait. I've bashed the innocent once or twice. The mods let it slide cause they don't figure I'm a troublemaker, but it sucked just the same. Better to wait and maybe see what other members think. Trolls will show their true colors soon enough. If you don't spot e'm, somebody else will.

Re: How to spot a troll

Real men don't get triggered, but they sometimes pull them.
The biggest red flag for me are questions about dating, blue-pill life, "what do I do with this particular woman", how do I become more alpha...

They're just not reading the material, either because they are not male, or anti-MGTOW, or anti-MRA, or pro-feminist, or just lazy.

With all of the content available online, there is no reason why ANY man should be blue pill today. Him doing so is by choice, even if that choice is the thirst for pussy - letting his DICK decide.

This is not a place to help blue-pill men survive in their fake matrix world. But, if I were to give blue-pill men ONE line of advice to get them just CONSIDERING the Red Pill reality it would be this.

"Don't listen to what women say, observe their ACTIONS and always follow the MONEY!"

Some guys like Matrix movie metaphors, others don't. Most MGTOW guys I've talked to believe in the Red Pill in one form or another.
But, my favorite quote from Morpheus to 'newly woke' Neo is this, during the Kung-Fu training scene:

Morpheus: How did I beat you?

    Neo: You... you're too fast.

Morpheus: Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? Do you think that's air you're breathing now?

    *********************************************

Blue-Pill: They said I just chose wrong, and should just better myself and try again.
Red-Pill: Do you believe that you being better, or choosing "correctly" has anything to do with the outcome of your relationships in this place?

The "choose wisely" lie is the biggest laugh of all for one simple reason: people change, and sometimes very quickly. I met another man recently who's wife left him and monkey-branched - boyfriend shows up RIGHT during divorce proceedings. Hmmmm... snagged a beta workhorse, with guaranteed income via child support - this b1tch just waited until the kid was off breast milk and old enough to sleep through the night and BAM. She's gone. So when did she decide this? Before or after post-partum depression kicked in? Before or after the pregnancy? Or even before that?

I bet she knew the "new guy" long before Guy A even knocked her up.
I bet subconsciously (because all female designs are subconscious to them) she had the whole fucking thing planned.

Lurkers: Do you really believe that all you need to do is work out a bit and choose wisely, even if you're a confirmed beta male?
Do you think she loves you the way you love her?

The internet isn't like real life, in real life you can't always ignore someone who means you harm. On the internet you can (some exceptions like a hacker for eg but we're talking trolls).

I recently left a MGTOW forum where a troll ran rampant for weeks and too many members gave them life but reacting to their posts. This was an obvious troll and the site was largely unmoderated. From what I have seen here there are mods and if I am thinking of the same member you are referring to they are benign compared to the one who was on my former site.

Just ignore their posts, report them if you feel it is worthy and speak to the mods.

    Oh, that's easy.

Jargr made this place. Jagr owns this place. Jagr runs this place, although he's pretty hands-off most of the time.

That's the system. It's kinda like the Linux kernel.

As anyone with any experience on the interwebs knows, the second you set up a politbureau it gets infested with entryists. Reddit is a fine example, but there are too many others to mention. Wikipedia. SCP. Shit - even 4chan. The only thing that works is what we have here.
