I agree. It would be better to teach young minds to enquire, and to impart the discipline needed to become self-motivating.

biggest beef I had with high school is that over two-thirds of what they taught you had nothing to do with the real world.....
back in college, I heard of one taffer who was an obvious victim of that.... he could do a partial tensor integration in his head... but was totally clueless as to how to balance a checkbook..... (even fifth grade was more profitable... in that, I learned how to fill out a tax return.)
I just dont see any profit in filling one's head with useless theories.... and I think boys should be allowed (if not required) to take Home Eco.. especially with the "obesity epidemic" going on... if the staff doesn't let boys learn how to make reasonably healthy meals.. then they are aiding and abetting the epidemic by forcing our male youth to subsist on a diet of bugers, pizza and takeout Chinese... and if you ask me, if that isn't a "Crime against Civilization".. I don't know what is....

If you are wanting to be with a woman, go for a trip to South East Asia/Latin America etc. and you'll find that they will be more receptive towards you than the girls you are around. It is funny how two Australian's will randomly talk with each other for a couple of hours overseas, yet wouldn't even say hello in Australia. Don't marry them but you will see that the West is damaged on the social front, not yourself.

as for those who got the "you really gay?"-bit.....
yeah.. I lost count of how many times I got that.... which is the main reason I outlawed any and all reunions... turns out I just ended up going to school with man-animals.. (when I was told I'd be attending with "people"...)

Re: What is the point of High School?

From the blog of Frank Chalk, which nearly perfectly sums up my experience at high school.

The year 7 class are having their first Science Lesson. Edward in the front row is bursting with enthusiasm, his little hand reaching for the sky as Miss Jones asks a question about the Sun. He knows all the names of the planets and is fascinated by anything to do with dinosaurs, Astronomy and things that go fast. He has a Chemistry Set at home and is desperately keen to learn how to blow things up.

Two rows back, Brandon and Lee do not know the answer. Brandon has a reading age of six and an ability level that prevents him from doing anything more complicated than drawing and colouring in. His writing is totally illegible and he cannot do basic arithmetic. He has no support teacher today, as she is only with him for three lessons out of five.

Lee has a similar ability but never even has a support teacher because he has not been statemented; a lengthy process which must be completed before any help can be paid for. For some reason his previous school never managed to do it, which is not unusual.

At the front, Miss Jones has a choice: she can either spend a huge amount of her time helping Brandon and Lee, or she can concentrate on the middle ability level of the group and simply let these two do something trivial. Either way, she has no time to answer Edward's numerous questions on asteroids and comets. She is starting to get fed up with him, as he makes her feel guilty. He keeps saying that the work is far too easy and is becoming bored and disillusioned with Science.

Let's not pretend or mince our words here- Miss Jones is simply wasting Brandon, Lee and Edward's time.

It's not her fault- she is only human and cannot possibly deal with such a ridiculously large spectrum of abilities. Deep down, she feels that mixed ability classes seem to let down the best and the worst. All she has ever been told however, is how great it is that the school is so 'inclusive'.

In my opinion, Lee and Brandon should not be in this lesson at all. They should be learning to read and write, to add up and subtract. They should be with people who are trained to teach these things, not Secondary School teachers. They should never have left Primary school until they have mastered these skills, because without them, they will never be employed.

Instead their next lesson is French...

Edward is also being let down and shouldn't be in this lesson. The school will not worry one jot about him however, as the chances are that he will muddle through and get a 'c' grade, so he is just forgotten about. In another scenario he would have grown up to become a great scientist.

The above story is happening right now at a school near me.

Unfortunately it's also happening at one near you.

Re: What is the point of High School?

If someone insinuates I'm gay I'm straight up front giving always the same answer. "It takes one to know one". Then I walk away with a smile on my face. Schools are indoctrination centers where you learn to obey authority different from the parental one. You will be indoctrinated into group thinking. Apart from hard science there was little to nothing that served me in later life. our schools and universities are completely insufficient to prepare you for what's out there.

Life is the best teacher there is but life's a bitch if you don't pay attention. It gives you the test first and then the lesson. What was crucial for me to navigate this minefield was my observation capabilities which prevented me from a lot of pain and hardship. I watched and observed . . . especially my friends. I have my own perception of the world I'm living in and once I started to understand I took the decision to never ever have my own children. It pains me at times when I see the kids of my sister and how proud she is but I just can't raise kids in this kind of world, full of crazy ass people.

BOT. In any case in doesn't stop with high school . . . once you go to the university to get a degree the brainwashing is stepped up significantly. The complete annihilation of yourself will be the military the brainwashing in the military is 100 %. With all due respect to everyone who did the military service I didn't went to the military because I would have ended up in jail 1000%. It would have ruined my life. I have extreme difficulties to accept and obey authority. One other lesson I learned is" Never put yourself in a position where you conflict with the law" They gonna fuck you over in a heartbeat. Mind your own business study things that are interesting to you on your own set goals in your life and don't marry. If you are consistent you achieve your results.
    cheers
