Re: Remember that bridge collapse in Florida?

Here is the stupid thing being installed. Apparently it was supposed to be a suspension bridge, but they decided the suspension part didn't need to be installed for a full year. Dumb as it gets.

I hope they do press criminal charges, I want to see all the women that built that bridge in PRISON!
    And their engineering licenses REVOKED!

It was much worse than that, the bridge was built using an untested type of concrete, no redundancy for for the tendons (they don't always work properly in the real world), improper transport of bridge sections, no awareness of how tendons are stressed (not familiar with basic material science), and removing the cribbing (scaffolding) before the bridge was completed, and finally, opening the street to traffic before the bridge had been inspected and approved. A long chain of stupidity and incompetence.

Re: Remember that bridge collapse in Florida?

First line of the video: "We may never know exactly who was responsible for design flaws...".

That's about all I needed to hear. Because if it were a man who was responsible for the design flaws, we would ALREADY know exactly who it was. His ass would have already been crucified for it, and his errors would have already been used as proof that we need more women in engineering to "bring a new perspective and reduce these (male) failures in the future...".

The bureaucracy investigating this disaster is the same bureaucracy demanding more female inclusion. If female inclusion was the reason for the disaster, the bureaucracy that demanded it is not going to be reporting themselves and their ideas as the reason for it. That inability to find mechanism of failure tells you what the mechanism of failure was.

You can give women every advantage when entering them into the training and education process. But if you give them any advantage on actually doing the work properly, know that gravity will not be extending to them any forgiveness for their lack of design ability...

Re: Remember that bridge collapse in Florida?

Pbisque's Daily Mail link kind of had a mind of it's own, but the idea I get is the authority's are dragging their feet. They say the investigation will go quickly, but it don't look like that's happening. With no support tower, why is appointing blame so hard? Somebody must have hopes it will go away if swept under the rug. My hope is that these women and their dumb ass accomplices end up living under one of their own bridges, but that's probably too much to ask. But watching their lame ass company fold, that might happen by the time the legal system gets done with them. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch a girls either.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.

That ain't incompetence.. that's Criminal Negligence! I ain't even an engineer, and I'd damn well have that shit worked out. I know some guys...
And it's nothing but wide open prairie...

There's something very fun about MGTOW. In an odd sense, like charting a new territory of the mind, or rediscovering a long lost civilization. Occult knowledge, secret societies, cannibal natives (THOTS), it's all very exciting... lololol.

They went to do a stress test without even stopping traffic flow. Doesn't matter if it was a new design or old design..a stress test while not stopping traffic flow looks like murder to me.

Had they closed traffic off and done a stress test all of this would have been discovered rather quickly.

And not only are the engineers on the hook but FDOT employees that signed off on this project every step of the way along with county inspectors, etc. When white knights are afraid of calling out female engineers due to harassment lawsuits this is the result with people dying and suffering.
