    Oh, you silly, thirsty women.

Twice this week (Sunday and today) I've been in situations wherein I enter a place of business, immediately see what appears to be a single mom, child, and the grandmother on their way out, I completely ignore them, and they then proceed to linger in the place and finally decide to head for the door at the exact same time that I do (ten minutes later, after walking up and down whatever aisle I'm in doing the 'talk loud about nothing, he hasn't noticed you yet' thing).

It's funny, the things they do when they come across our path... especially when they were literally on their way out the door as you were entering. Kids and all, and no intention of saying hi-- I'm supposed to approach the single mom with her little bastard right there. And both times the grandmother is in on it, following me and purposefully getting in my way, talking loud to the daughter about absolutely nothing. And it happens all the time, but this was funny to me because of how hard they kept trying.

It has NOTHING to do with looks. I'm simply a guy who was not at all interested, and sone women simply cannot handle or process that. It never occurs to them ' maybe he's in a relationship. Maybe he sees my child and is not into single moms'. No, it's all about being used to and expecting attention, which they'll take from almost ANY man. The guy who is truly and sincerely indifferent to them becomes the bright flame that attracts the moth. Nothing more than that.

It's so much fun driving them insane by doing nothing whatsoever.

I remember a single mom at the mall eying the crowd once. Looked for all the world like a hungry hawk setting in a tree. Talk about focused, she wanted someone bad.

When your old, single moms don't pay much attention. They don't want to encourage the geezers. But old women sure perk up. they don't throw themselves at you feet. But like ants at a picnic, they never give up. Older than dirt but still have hope. Where they find it when no man has looked at them for over twenty years is beyond me. But they do. How's it working out grannie?

They will laugh really loud, also, if they want you to notice them. If she was 5-10 years younger with no child at all, she would ignore most males right back.

I should add that if I'd so much as glanced at the mom she'd have been satisfied and they would've left. I think the shock of a man giving no reaction at all to them was unacceptable, so they had to be seen or have some form of interaction.

I'd think that way too if I was one of the guys who NEVER got attention and yet secretly craved it.

Now that you have added that part, I think I see what you mean. Although, I have seen both sexes make comments in public meant to be overheard by others (me, for instance). For instance, when a man talks to his wife in the checkout line ahead of me and I sense he would say it differently if they were alone. Like, he throws in a sports comment and I'm supposed to smile or jump in! I think we all do it once in a while. Human interaction?
