MGTOW mentioned and dismissed on the radio

Here in Seattle, we have a conservative talk radio station where each weekday from noon to 3pm Michael Medved takes his turn at the microphone.

I was doing yard work about 15 minutes ago listening to him comment on current political events when a caller asked him if he had heard of MGTOW. Medved had not, apparently, and asked where one hears about it, whereas the caller explained to go to youtube and elsewhere online and explained a little about it, men deciding marriage and the laws, etc.

Medved seemed to not be impressed and countered with saying that the divorce rate is better than it's ever been. Then he mentioned his wife's book about not divorcing, and that was pretty much it. Medved moved on.

It was how he interrupted as soon as the caller said "Youtube and..." that I inferred Medved was not impressed, possibly expecting something with a more scholarly cachet, like a book.

If I could have been there, I might have said to Medved, "I'm not talking about the divorce rate. I'm asking if you know about those men who have turned their back on relationships? Does your wife's book even talk about that?"

I didn't know he was still around. I remember seeing him occasionally on TV, but a decade or two ago, and only rarely. I'm sure he's a very nice man, but the few times I saw him I never felt like he added much value to anything I was involved in or even remotely concerned with. He always left me scratching my head, feeling a bit... well... bland. I do wish him all the best, however.

I first saw him on some movie review TV show of years ago (Sneak Previews, I think) but never heard of him again until this radio show. He has written books and he is really good on giving modern topics an historical background and perspective, often lacking in the discourse of the day.

In fact, on major holidays he runs one of any amount of his pre-recorded talks on American history. Always a worthwhile listen.

Tonight, I am attending a talk at a nearby University where he is one of three scholars speaking. The topic is "Why Not Socialism?" I am sure the title is provocatively designed to draw attendance as I know he is dead set against it. As am I. I am attending because I may learn a few things rather than fill my head only with what comes at me via TV and online. I hope to improve how I might argue against SJW and others.

Hey, if I get the chance, maybe I will innocently ask him about MGTOW...

MGTOW cant be fully understand from men who spent their best years in a sane environment, people above 45 mostly get to mgtow due to a divorce.

There is a divorce driven mgtow and a socialization driven mgtow, the second one happens to younger guys experiencing sex diynamics in the current world.

In my case divorce has nothing to do with me being mgtow, never considered marriage even before my red pill days let alone before I became a mgtow, it was about socializing in the current world under certain dynamics.

If I do get to talk to Medved about MGTOW tonight, that's exactly what I'm going to say. To hopefully break through his wall.

I think it's gotten to the point where pretty much everyone is at least vaguely aware of MGTOW. It is a movement which makes many uncomfortable, for obvious reasons. Blue-pillers and married simps like the one Medved brush it off because it makes them uncomfortable, and they don't want to consider the possibility that we might be right, because if we are it will completely turn their world upside down. It's like Morpheus said to Neo in the Matrix, many of the NPC's are actually addicted to the Matrix and will fight to protect it.

Gradually awareness is increasing and we can no longer be ignored. The mainstream media has already been running hit pieces on us trying to get ahead of the movement, but I think they have no idea how to react to us. We don't respond to their shaming tactics, can't be intimidated by their doxxing tactics since we are mostly anonymous, and we aren't going anywhere as long as society continue to persecute men and shit all over us. They can either continue to try to fight us, which will just fan the flames, or they can choose to ignore us and hope we don't continue to grow. Either way, we cannot be stopped.

This is obviously true, but my main concern is another tactic not mentioned. Take over the MGTOW narrative and dilute it, divide and then conquer.

It is a tactic as old as time, and I think characters like Jordan Peterson could be used give a fake version of the MGTOW narrative.

Lots of people give fake versions of MGTOW. Try showing me a fake version of VAWA.

An old expression reminds me of Michael Medved .

"For those who understand, no explanation is needed. For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible".

Because fewer people are getting married.

Even if you look at a stat like "how many marriages have ended in divorce", that still doesn't tell you the real story, because it doesn't count marriages that *will* end in divorce.

The stat that matters is: of marriages that have ended - did they end by death of one of the partners or by divorce? What proportion of marriages are true lifelong commitments? If you get married today, how likely is it to be a lifelong commitment? Of course, we don't actually have that figure - we'd need a crystal ball.

So, a question we actually have the stats for is: for marriages made at least five years ago, how many of them have ended in divorce within five years? And *that* figure is appalling. And it becomes more appalling when we expand that 5 out to 10. And what's more appalling still is the *trend*. Map out the marriages made in the years 1950 to 2014, and check out the 'divorced within five years' graph.

For bonus fun, split the data according to whether it's a first, second, third marriage for the wife.

    * most marriages end in divorce
    * much of the time, the husband gets gutted and reamed
    * women know this and plan for it
