    Groupthink phenomenon

I was reading about this and it reminds me a lot of blue pill guys.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink

Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome. Group members try to minimize conflict and reach a consensus decision without critical evaluation of alternative viewpoints by actively suppressing dissenting viewpoints, and by isolating themselves from outside influences.

Groupthink requires individuals to avoid raising controversial issues or alternative solutions, and there is loss of individual creativity, uniqueness and independent thinking. The dysfunctional group dynamics of the "ingroup" produces an "illusion of invulnerability" (an inflated certainty that the right decision has been made). Thus the "ingroup" significantly overrates its own abilities in decision-making and significantly underrates the abilities of its opponents (the "outgroup"). Furthermore, groupthink can produce dehumanizing actions against the "outgroup".

How liberals control in most situations, along with the groups that make up liberals like feminist screaming and few women standing against them.

    Re: Groupthink phenomenon

Group think tends to happen due to mass censorship and shaming tactics. Once those shaming tactics don't work then people start to question the censorship and they may break free. But a lot of men are snared by groupthink because they fear that they have to conform or they are outcasts in the eyes of female validation.

Slave to expectations based on what others perceive is a terrible, terrible fate for a man to choose.

Isn't this just communism with a new label slapped on it?
Shame is a womans primary weapon. Watch for it, and call it out wherever you see it. Few women know how to handle a man immune to shame.

Probably depends on rather their doing it cause they want to, or cause they damn well better. I've always wondered just how serious the rank and file of the commie country's really were. No more than they had to be is my guess.

Exposing The 'Regulatory Groupthink' Of California's Rooftop Solar Mandate

California legislators have done a gimmick-trick that has earned the state loud applause from the environmentally-minded consumers and activists: California Energy Commission (CEC) recently voted 5-0 to add a new provision to the state’s building code. This includes a requirement that from 2020, all new house and multi-family residences construction of three stories or fewer, along with all major renovations, must be built with rooftop solar panels. Given that the state currently builds ca 113,000 housing units a year, and rising, this should increase significantly already existent solar generation capacity from 15% of the housing stock, currently.
Solar being mandated on virtually all new houses? Sounds like a renewables nirvana, especially given the fact that the state has huge solar generation potential due to its climate. But, as commonly is the case, there is a catch. Or two... or many more... And this means that California's latest policy mandate may be a poor example to follow, and potentially, a bad policy mistake.

------------------Showing the liberal group think adding to the cost of housing in Cal. a state with already a housing shortage and very very over priced.

    Re: Groupthink phenomenon

That is amazing. And I wonder whether the state will pay for subsequent disposal, or whether the homeowner will have to fork over the cash. There's almost zero residual value in EOL panels. Even if there were, what about all the labor costs to replace them? What about the costs of new panels and installation labor? Will the frames and electrical interfaces up on that roof still be compatible with what's on the market a quarter century down the road? If not, that might mean a frame transplant, not just a "simple" panel swap. Will new panels be compatible with legacy inverters, or will the inverters have to be replaced as well?

Another dopey idea from a state run by dopes for dopes.

Now... I wonder who might possibly have a commercial interest in this. And... I wonder how much behind-the-scenes (ahem...) "convincing" is at work?

What happened to the CA secession movement? If it croaked, then let's do a restart. Please. That state has metastacised into a cancerous tumor attached to the republic.

It make the point. The country that was formed on rugged individualism is being changed. Old liberals and starting with the millennials, which came from a take over of the education system. Add in the almost total media take over by the far leftist. It is not just the States and Canada, but in effect every western style government/country.

The backlash has been a rise in Nationalism across a lot of the western style countries. This might be the last stand, just have to wait and see.

    Re: Groupthink phenomenon

As a "free market" person I am all in favor of letting the "market" sort out the adoption of roof top solar panels.

As prices have dropped (of course made in China) the cost per kwh of power output has dropped considerably and for some applications is probably close to the cost, or maybe even slightly below the cost of purchasing commercial power ... at least during mid day at times when energy consuming air conditioning is badly needed.

If prices continued to drop eventually no arm twisting would be needed to get people to install them since the panels would pay for themselves several times over during their life.

Letting the market make decisions such as this generally results in a better outcome for all ... and nobody feels pressured by someone else's political agenda. Unfortunately there are certain groups that believe that government should dictate virtually everything in society. I dimly recall that there was a whole mindset that pushed that dynamic a while back, but in order to do it they had to kill off 5% to 10% of their own population and send at least that many more to be "re-educated" ...

Life doesn't repeat exactly ... but it sure rhymes at times.
