Re: ‘We will continue to represent men at their best’: Gillette’s backflip after ‘toxic masculinity’...

Gillete, the best a man can forget.

    Who?

I'm more than delighted with the traditional razor I got and pack of 100 blades. I've still got 90 blades left. So at around £10 I predict that will last me 5 years.

So, Gill.. who? But whoever it is I'm pleased I'm saving money.

Too late "Jillette" the damage has already been done. There's no easy way to wash the taste of a shit sandwich out of your mouth and they were in it deep. It also didn't help when they doubled down with the Trans-man commercial either. When you are that arrogant and think you won't be fallible for playing the SJW game, expect a rain of L's to shower on you.

Gillette losses were so bad it made the company unprofitable to the toon of 5.24 billion for P&G. The company has only one choice come out apologize very public and fire the people involved in the marketing.
Timing being as issue here, other companies have stepped up. I suspect P&G will have to unload Gillette taking another massive hit to keep the company afloat.

When I started shaving, Gillette controlled the market, least round here. There stuff took up over three quarters of the shelf's at the local market. How can you go from that to losing billions? It was long ago, but that's a hell of a drop no matter how you look at it. The village idiot's must have been running the show.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.

I think the truth behind this is actually a little more cynical than what the backlash portrays. Gillette did the ad because they misread the cultural narrative. They couldn't give two shits about the gender war. The left wing control the media, so they got a distorted view of what the general population demands.

They made a marketing error. They are no better or worse than any other corporation out there. If there is justice at all, an overpaid marketing executive lost their job. They've corrected course. In two years time, nobody will even remember that P&G had anything to do with this.

There stuff has been overpriced for years anyway. People bought that stuff by default. This event forced them back into competition and they price drops will hopefully stick.

Nothing wrong with boycotting them over it either. They made a marketing error and should be punished accordingly. There simply isn't a moral lesson to be learned here.
