Amen. Better to be alone than in bad company.

    I'm anti-social to the core.

Man I've been trying to be open-minded about socializing for its own sake, but most people are just fucking morons. They talk like it's a nervous tic, if they STOP talking, it's like they think their brains will explode or something. Conversations with actual value being traded back and forth are fine by me, but everything else...to take part those nervous tic type conversations, I can literally feel myself dumbing down my entire persona so it fits with whatever asinine thing they're ranting about.

It's worth noting that "antisocial" doesn't mean what it seems to mean. It doesn't simply mean unsociable. Proudly saying you are antisocial is like proudly saying you're a communist and thinking that it simply means that the workers should control the means of production. The word doesn't exactly mean that, not anymore at least.

You're referring to the distinction between anti-social and asocial, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asociality . I don't often go out these days anymore as I inevitably end up thinking staying at home would've been the better choice (it often is). And if I do go out I prefer doing it by myself.

Yeah I agree ‘anti-social’ has negative connotations, I prefer to say that I have a low dickhead tolerance.

I think they're afraid of being in their own heads, so they spend as much time outside of it as possible.

I mean LOL i dont even try anymore . Pointless and useless .

What i need i can pay for ... if someone does something better that others he or she have full agenda of paying customers , will not help you ... And again i can pay for and dont need to pretend to be a "friend".

LOL i never lend money so no point to be friends with me either .

If i feel the need to talk to someone ( which i never do ) i rather bang a chick or hop on this forum .

Oh yeah drunk mates that need a ride ...those ware worth living for .

Unfortunately, in these diminished times, having a low tolerance for dickheads means you have a low tolerance for about 95% of the population. And I feel that I am being overly generous with that estimate of the non-dickhead proportion of the population.

As you're one of the older members here, do you have that same experience with older people? I've always had the impression (and still do) that older people are somehow more honest and sincere.

    Re: Anti social behaviour

Anti social behavior is the logical part of the human experience because you are not allowing your emotions to lead you into situations. Sometimes it is fun to turn off the logical part of your brain and immerse yourself to have fun.

The problem is as it has been outlined in this thread is people try to use social gatherings to escape their reality way too often or to shy away from responsibility.

It is a con to be alone by yourself for long periods of time, but the advantage is that you do more thinking about yourself and how you can be a better man. It basically comes down to the introversion and extroverted portions of each person.

I tend to be a mix of both and I find they feed into one another...that is by being introverted for periods of time I am able to cultivate an interesting personality and one grounded on a lot of deep reflection looking at my life as a failure and as a success. Thus, when engaged in social interactions I can be genuine and express this openly with other people and they buy in because it is legit. This is how my extroverted personality gains momentum in social interactions. And this is how I am able to claw away the superficial things people talk about in social settings that I find boring or pointless.

But it requires a lot of work to go beyond the mundane and the very ordinary so it isn't something for everyone. But give Azure Nomad enough time and I can pry at people's boundaries and then pluck the strings of a person's soul or even tickle them for shits and giggles simply because I can.

Very eloquent, Azure Nomad. Nicely expressed.

    I'm a tad more succinct. I'm anti-social because I don't fucking like people.

And if you do try to talk about something interesting or a bit in depth, they say that "you talk shite".

You're not meant to have the temerity to talk about something that everyone doesn't understand.

My father actually put me in a hospital for being "Antisocial"... but given all the bullying i got... dont you think that i can tell when i'm not welcome or wanted???
Given that sort of treatment, it should come as no surprise that I would not want such man-animals as friends... (with "friends" like that, you don't need enemies)

I almost believe extroversion is a curse. Have you talked to extroverts? They have nothing deep or meaningful to talk about. They just move their lips a lot but nothing comes out that you can latch unto. As a introvert myself, I value deep conversations that are interesting and intriguing. I find extroverts are "socially fun" in the sense they can crack a good joke once in awhile, but fall short on the deeper reflections in life. They are surface dwellers and can mingle very well, but ask them about the universe and they haven't got a clue.

And don't get me started about the common extroverts that worship the god of football.

Hey Nomad! You catch the GAME last night?!
Nomad, did you see the GAME?
OMG DID U SEE THE GAME LAST NIGHT NOMAD?

No I didn't see the dam GAME! I don't care about the game! You can't even remember the last 5 years who won the game and your obsessed about the dam game!

People call people who play video games nerds for enjoying digital entertainment, and then the same people will obsess over going to a stadium full of people to buy over priced food to sit down and watch people run down a field. I think we know who the real nerds are.

Yeah ... the last game I saw was Atletica Nacional (Colombia) vs Huracan (Argentina) in the Copa Libertador series, two weeks ago in the big stadium in Medellin. It was a hot contest -- Nacional is an aggressive team, playing in their home stadium too -- and the excitement of the crowd is definitely contagious. But the final score was 0-0, or "zip all" as we'd put it up here in the States.

Worth seeing once, but for me, it's of a piece with "Bread And Circuses" back in Ancient Rome.
