    Anthony Bourdain and women...

I genuinely liked him after reading a book of his awhile back, and his death bothers me a bit. It looks as though the actress he was seeing contributed to his poor mental state-- he'd been excited and 'giddy' as one colleague phrased it, anticipating tonight's episode of his show ( which she directed). Then, apparently, he becomes gloomy after photos of her hanging out with a younger reporter she'd recently worked with surfaced. I initially assumed cancer ( he was a hardcore smoker) but it's looking as if she was the catalyst. After reading more about him I realized he was BP to the max.

What puzzles me is an anecdote about his youth in which he saw firsthand the true nature and vileness of women... and yet the poor guy STILL invested his self worth in them.

'He decided he wanted to be a chef while toiling during his late teens at a fried-fish spot in Provincetown, Mass., where he once spotted the chef having sex with a newlywed bride celebrating her wedding at the restaurant. He dropped out of Vassar College and went on to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.'

Another one taken down by the cold, evil, uncaring woman he treasured. It is truly, truly saddening...but at the same time sometimes we bring misery upon ourselves.

My first thought was "its the happy pills" . No amount of street drugs or alcohol ever made me feel like suicide is a very good idea . But boy oh boy benzos did it in practically no time .

One ten minutes you feel on top of the world the very next ones you just feel that ending it is the way to go .

I literally thought i experienced the whole spectrum of emotions possible in my life until i felt this benzo shit .

And of course the dude was an alcoholic and what not .

    RIP.

I read a little about him and can relate. After my first marriage, I was a wreck. I can't stress enough to stay away from women. I can have a shitty day but knowing I am not a slave to a woman makes me realize how lucky I am.

@MGTOWFOREVER - I can relate. I was my wife's caregiver and I worked a full-time job. By the time she passed I was an emotional wreck. Never again.

Women have killed or ruined the careers of most of the greatest celebrities in the world today. Time to cut your losses and run.

A guy with a bike shop here started with nothing, and by working six days a week for over twenty years, turned it into a successful business.

Then some lot lizard saw a crop ready to harvest and the shop owner found himself having an affair. Trouble is, he got to feeling guilty and confessed to his wife. Sometimes its good to fess up and tell the truth, but this was not one of those times. His wife threw him out and said she'd ruin him in court. I guess the idea of working so hard and losing it all was more than he could stand, he killed himself. I figure his lazy high tone wife pushed him into it. She's no doubt playing the poor widow card now, as she spends the insurance money and pokes the gardener.
Every day I make the world a little bit worse.
