20-Year-Old Carisa Barker Sells Blood Plasma Twice A Week To Fund Her Shopping Addiction

"Carisa Barker, a 20-year-old self-described "shopaholic", has made more than $3,000 by "donating" blood plasma, which she does twice a week. She uses the money from donating selling her blood to fund her shopping addiction, according to the NY Post. She has spent a year visiting a donation clinic twice a week to donate plasma in exchange for cash. She nets about $280 per month from her donations and has brought in $3,360 over the course of one year. She recommends the practice as an "effortless way to make money", according to the article.
Barker said: "I would absolutely recommend it to people who are short of cash and want to go shopping. I donate plasma twice a week. I get $20 the first time and $50 the next time. It’s just a little bit of extra money that I can spend that I don’t feel I worked very hard for.”
Barker admits she hits the mall "about three times a week" and that she spends about $600 per month on clothes . . . "

Commenter: "Sounds like good marriage material!
Disclaimer - reminds me of my ex-wife. Fortunately I'm happily divorced. The alimony is worth it."

Another: "Yo Dudes! DO NOT MARRY THIS WOMAN!
She will bleed you dry, divorce you when you stop funding her shopping habit, and garnish 50% of your wages until the end of time for alimony.Did you know the cause of most divorces is finances?"

Another: "A Thief stole my Wife's Credit Card. I let him keep it because he spends less money than she does . . . "

At least she is producing something of value for her cash. I knew a guy in school that did that. He would study while he got drained.

Twice a week?!? I'm surprised she's still walking around.

I read the entire article. She's living at home, and instead of saving money to rent/buy her own place, she's pissing it away on garbage that will be out of style in a year.

And she brags about this on her own Youtube channel? Man, if I were selling my vital fluids to fund an addiction, I'd sure as shit keep it to myself simply out of shame. Oh, but I forgot -- it's 2019 and we don't have shame any more. I think it's been made illegal or something.

Western society slogs ever forward, deeper and deeper into the swamp.

Conversely, the guy I mentioned was paying his tuition with his money.

Now that makes sense. Better than to have a $25K tuition loan pulling him down for the next decade.

Shame only exists for men. Why should whimyn feel shame when there is always a way to blame men?

    From the article:

It’s just a little bit of extra money that I can spend that I don’t feel I worked very hard for.
That statement stuck out to me. The way she designates that money is a slightly peculiar expression to my ears.

    She could have just said:

It’s just a little bit of extra money.
    or

It’s just a little bit of extra money that I can spend.
But, its that final designation that did it:

that I don’t feel I worked very hard for.

I'd sell my blood - if it wasn't 50% whiskey and I'd sell my semen too - but at my age, who's gonna buy that? I can't even 'give' it away for free!!!

There are women who travel halfway across the world to be shat upon by horny old perverts with lots of oil money. As fucked up as it is, selling plasma to fund a shopping addiction really isn't that surprising for a modern western female. Their lack of financial acumen and capacity for self-destructive behavior is absolutely astounding.

I donate plasma twice a week. The best part? It is tax free money. $70 a week for 3 hours of reading.

No offense, but looking at your avatar and then looking at what you wrote made me chuckle !

Though, on serious note, strontium is an element, and every element can be uniquely identified by number of protons in their atom. But the number of neutrons can vary. In case of strontium, it got 38 protons. But if you want to talk about a particular variant of strontium where the atoms only contain a specified number of neutrons, then you say its an "isotope". So strontium-90 means 38 protons, 90 (neutrons + protons), which means 52 neutrons.

Edit: The 90 refers to sum total, not just neutrons.

A clever fighter not only wins, but excels in winning with ease. His victories bring him neither reputation for wisdom, nor credit for courage. He wins his battles by making no mistakes. Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated.

    No offence taken.

Donkey, you can find them in Sheffield, at the old Windscale air cooled nuclear reactor that YOUR scientists ran like a 1200 cc. Harley Davidson revved up to 5,000 rpm. and parked in Death Valley, 140f.! That's 60c. in Donkeyville! Anyway, don't eat the grass in Sheffield or else your bad isotopes will go up!
