I'm starting to wonder how my intro ever got approved.

    Me too. Don't tell nobody.

Maybe we did lose one. But they talked a lot a shit for a rookie, and that makes me undecided if they were for real or not.

It's really simple. Whether or not your intro is acceptable to the mods and established forum members isn't that big a deal. It's how you react to questions about your intro and whether or not you are willing to answer those questions in a straightforward manner. If the new poster is making a sincere effort, any shortcoming or questions about their intro get resolved quickly and amiably, based on what I have seen.
If you walk into a social group and "talk shit" or act like you are superior, there will be a push back, won't there?

    Mine, too. LOL.

The non-identical experiences in doing the Intro reminds me of small leaves in a fast moving brook. Each leaf travels a current somewhat different from the others but the destination is the same.

(I just made that up but Thank You, Master Po)

I recall my newbie perspective. The other site, HQ, many years ago had unannounced open registration windows where you never knew when they were and you had to keep trying to register to see if you could get in. Maybe they still do that, dunno. One time I got in and registered and there I was, and, well, I forget now exactly what happened, but I was messaged either then or saw on a future login a message to provide an Intro and I was so damn green to the necessity of screening I did not understand the importance or something. No other website ever asked this of me. Here's all it said:

Rule #1, you have to post an intro in the intro forum before posting elsewhere.
One sentence. Succinct. None of that talkative stuff I do. Now that I read it above, maybe that's a phrase I could start using as Mod as it's really what we want. Except we have no numbered Rulesheet.

The person sending it did not have his account marked as Moderator, btw.

Plus, the volume of the site seemed overwhelming, all those forums, who can really see just one person, seemed to me. I just decided to do nothing, thinking I would be overlooked in the volume and not have to bother, or do it whenever. To that extent, I was being resistant or uncooperative although I thought I was being my usual website-y self in not jumping quickly to things, but putting it on the ToDo list. I was not a frequent visitor either. Knowing what I know now, I see that I was just not plugged into what they had to look out for, as I knew what I was! However, I was, for their purposes, resistant and uncooperative but my discussion around it was only with myself, not with the Mod. All they saw from me on this matter was silence. One-sided conversations are an online shortcoming I don't do anymore.

A different someone there sent me a second message two months later to do an Intro. He also does not mark his account as Moderator and still doesn't today. This:

We're going through and banning inactive accounts, and accounts with no intros.

    Please post an introduction ASAP.

No definite deadline, but in typical use the phrase As Soon As Possible does not mean a ToDo list as much as it actually means Pretty Damned Quick. ASAP = PDQ. I placed my Intro that day. Did I hear from a Mod ever? I can't say. But I can accept truths from peers, right?

Had they banned me, say, in that intervening two months without any coddling of me, I wouldn't have been upset, or angry, or hurt. I would have figured I goofed up on what they wanted. I'm a website-y guy, not a soldier looking for a battle. I'd either try again and do it better this time or, ha, put it on my ToDo list to maybe try better in the future.
