    A brief introduction

    Brothers,
A few weeks ago I was reading a book on marriage written by a manosphere blogger when I came across a term in the introduction I'd never seen before, MGTOW. Curious, I googled the term. I haven't picked that book up since. During my MGTOW research I swallowed the Red Pill. It was a very jarring experience. I looked back on my nearly 50 years of life and felt physically ill. I looked back at the hot girl who friendzoned me long before anyone invented the term. She had nothing to do with me sexually but lived in my house rent free while I worked 2 full time jobs because she was my "best friend". I remember the ex-wife who left me for another man 18 months after saying "I do" and spending every cent I had, leaving me alone and bankrupt. I remember the cougar I lived with and supported on and off for 3 years who once refered to me as a "paycheck and a penis". I could go on but you get the point.
For a week after taking the Red Pill I was in a state of shock. My sex drive dropped to near zero, I hardly spoke to anyone, and just wanted to be left alone. Now that I've digested the bitter pill there is no going back.

Actually, brother, we do want that you go on and elaborate. Please review the sticky called How To Intro (in the New Members Intros forum) to make sure you've covered the bases in what we want to see you tell us about yourself. We all had to do it when we joined and, yes, I know it's a man's tendency to not want to talk about himself, but it's really important. I'll let a moderator decide if your brief introduction has met a bare minimum, but please review the sticky and give it your best shot. Thank you.

Welcome! Glad to have you here. I definitely encourage you to follow the protocol, much as I hate following process and rules. It's paid me back a hundredfold, and it also keeps the trolls at bay. And boooooy, do we get trolls here...

A 'brief' introduction? Indeed it was.

I suggest you take the advice of Unboxxed and try again - ASAP. The intro process exists for very good reasons and all must follow it.

    Re: A brief introduction

Yeah dude. Your intro hits a number of the important points, but it could easily have bee cut-and-pasted together from oh so many other stories on this website and elsewhere.

I mean, it all sounds pretty legit. But I'm not really getting a sense of who you are. Please expand a little.

Look at it this way - these intro threads are a real resource for other men trying to make sense of their own lives and experiences, "Holy shit! That exact same thing happend to me!". Your intro is your first contribution to this site, so - you know - contribute. This is your first chance to add something that other people will find useful.

My apologies brothers. I'm not trying to break any rules here, I'm just not a very good writer. I'm often at a loss for words...
    I'll try again.

    Re: A brief introduction

Thank you, Nexus ... now we'd like a thorough introduction. Actually, this isn't a matter of "we'd like," it is a requirement.

Please don't alter your original post; we want you to tell us more about yourself with a following post in this thread. "How To Intro," the sticky-post at the top of the New Member Intros thread, explains what we need. You're welcome to use my intro (hot-linked at the bottom of this message) as an example.

We look forward to your response -

    Welcome.

But as others have advised a little more detail about your journey will shed light on your recent discovery.

    Nexus,

Perhaps you have been conditioned against speaking your mind?

You write just fine. Go with your gut.

The Red Pill is exactly what you said it is: "No turning back."

You will experience serious emotional repercussions from your new awareness.

This is the place where you deal with it. If you are naturally introverted it is very normal
to try to contain and sanitize those emotions. Don't do that. It's bad for you. Trust me,
I tried and failed at it. The gentlemen on this board helped pull me through it.

They taught me that part of being a man is rising to a challenge.

This group is fair and just, but you need to show up for it.

In the end you will enjoy being right about your life for a change.

    Nexus,

Why don't you tell us about how life was growing up, and what you've learned to lead you here?

You can see that some of our members are sharpening the pitchforks for guys who are slow with their intros.
