    Re: I don't wanna be a gentleman

Unless you have a truly special and unique lady, being a gentleman will screw yourself with women.

    Re: I don't wanna be a gentleman

I have been camping for a week over New Year at one of those camp sites (in New Zealand) with untreated water supply, long-drop toilets, cold showers, no electricity and the nearest decent shop (with rational prices and a meaningful stock of goods) being 75km away. If you know New Zealand at all, there are not that many places with such minimal retail outlets so you might have a good idea where I am talking about. The fishing, tramping, scenery and sightseeing in the area is absolutely spectacular. Over the festive period, the camp site is absolutely packed with a combination of red-blooded boat, jet-ski and kayak fishermen, various Maori groups (some proudly displaying their iwi affiliations) and then the fast-moving international campervan crowd. Not a suit in site. I happened to be in the vicinity of a burial ceremony at one point and even there, I did not see suits. Over the Christmas and New Year break I did not shave and grew a not-too-shabby beard. I had a shower once; used one of those solar-heated waterbags that you hang up. It was all so entirely natural and everybody lived by a sort of natural code of conduct which broadly-speaking was "anything goes just don't be an arsehole", which results in a wide range of activity and behaviour. There were one or two complaints about loudness in the early hours but it was not bad imho.

Having set the scene and to get to my main point, I did not see women doing men things and men doing women things, nor did I see any issues with who did what. If woman did man things or men did women things, nobody noticed or cared either way. My tent was over in the vicinity of the fishing crowd, so it might have been a lot different amongst the internal campervan lot but I don't think so. Campers don't need all the bullshit and mostly are camping in faraway places to get away from it. Being "ladies" or "gentleman" just didn't come into the general social discourse. Everyone just did their thing and to hell with it and it all worked rather well.

The camping trip got me thinking that current social issues, gender, sexual persuasions, social roles etc, are a function of us having no real issues to contend with and far too much time to conjure up imaginary bogeymen (err "bogey persons"????) to relieve us of boredom and if we had a damn good civilisational collapse we would all get back to a proper life balance much like what we have when camping in places with minimal facilities. Concern with suits and ties and social protocols are replaced quickly with sunburn prevention, challenges of refrigerating food, minimising mosquitoes, fishing (including gutting, filleting and cooking), weather and tides.

    Re: I don't wanna be a gentleman

Ever noticed that no one ever says "That's no way for a lady to behave" anymore? There are no expectation whatsoever placed on women yet us blokes have to behave like a "gentleman". And as far as I can tell a gentleman is someone who takes it up the arse in which ever way best suits the woman.

And if we are talking chivalry that was for knights (wealthy Christian men) in the middle ages as way of ensuring they treated other knight (wealthy Christian men) well in warfare. Although they were also supposed to defend the weak, I think it was more a case of hoping they could continue their life of comfort even if captured. These rules went out the window of course if fighting an enemy that was not of your social class.

Once you filter out the trolls on that site, the comments on articles are usually much more informative than the articles themselves. You have to do some sifting, but there is a wealth of information on that site.

Agree, Zerohedge is also an edgy antidote for mainstream group-think; guaranteed to offer the reader a new perspective on most topics.

Here is an mindblowing case of women destroying the value of a man doing the gentlemanly thing. This makes me realise that its not that I don't wanna be a gentleman, I'm tired of the ambiguous outcomes and downright confused by them. As a result I just disappeared into my MGTOW ghost world.
